Overloading on TV

I've been feeling rotten for the past week, but wasn't sure if I was plagued by allergies or a cold so I didn't know the best way to treat my perma-stuffy nose.  Well, I think whatever it was toppled into the cold category as of last night.  I feel gross and it sucks.  Also, I desperately needed to go shopping for a new suit this weekend since I ( Read more... )

Ah, Lost. I've really enjoyed this season. I don't find it too hard to remember the subplots, I think it's because I have to keep reminding Huw of bits he's forgotten. Re. Sawyer - he'd reached the island way before it disappeared...hadn't he? I distinctly remember watching Juliet watching him emerge from the waves...I could happily board a Sawyer/Juliet ship :D

I really hope Daniel survived the island move. I like his character.

Boring Battlestar this week, they seem to alternate. I like Lee's character, but not so much as a politician. Six being pregnant was the most interesting thing that happened, but next week should be a goodie.

Sorry about your chocolates - and your cold. I've got a virus-type thing I've had for a few days. Time to crawl into bed with an old book.

Re. Sawyer - he'd reached the island way before it disappeared...hadn't he?

I think you're right... I was just reading Sawyer's entry on the Lostpedia (http://www.lostpedia.com/wiki/Main_Page -- I'm refreshing my memory on all the characters and subplots) and I think it said, like you did, that the island disappeared after he'd reached it. I wonder if the people on the island realized it was shifting...

I had the same thought when I saw shirtless Sawyer walking up the beach! I also was reminded of the Pirates of the Caribbean scenes with Elizabeth drinking rum on the beach. I bet that was intentional.

Yeah, the Daniel character is interesting. For all his squirminess and neuroses he also seems to have more of a moral center than some of the other freighter people who were on his mission.

Feel better!!!

Yes! I think I said aloud, "But why is all the rum gone?" (jumping in randomly) So I guess Sawyer and Juliette will lead the hapless crew of nameless survivors on-island? I can't imagine us spending a ton of time with them, since no one else has face besides the old couple and whichever of Scot/Steve is still around... but we're sure to learn more about Charlotte and Daniel and Miles because why start giving them flashbacks otherwise... which means the raft DID get moved with the island!

Of course, the best line was probably, "If you mean time-travelling bunnies, then yes."
And I kinda love Daniel. But the most love was the Sayeed/Keamy fight because those are the names I gave Ashwin and myself in our latest email Scrabble game!

I encourage all random jumping! Yeah, I think the focus will be on Sawyer and Juliette. They need to give Sawyer some story lines apart from liking Kate.

It's crazy to think that everyone could have been on the island for 3 years... that's a long time, long enough to get settled and used to the new status quo. Or, maybe, time passes slower on the island so it won't really be three years. Oh the suspense!

Well, Sawyer made it back to the island, remember? But yeah, I'm guessing Daniel and the rafties got sucked with the island. There's no way they're going to float in the middle of nowhere for a season.

I really loved this season though, the best since season 1! It's starting to get frustratingly complicated though, I feel like there's no focus anymore. By the time something is resolved I sort of forget the reason I cared in the first place. Still love this show though!

I keep hoping that with the end of the series in sight -- from a story arc planning purpose, at least -- that the producers will start reigning in the numbers of characters and storylines, but that didn't happen this season. It was pretty brutal to kill off everyone on the freighter, but Jin and Michael were the only major characters affected, I think.

Seeing your Desmond icon reminds me of how happy I am that Desmond and Penny were reunited! That won't stop me from worrying about them in the future, but at least we got a ray of temporary happiness. :D

I'm so far behind in Lost that I can read the spoilers and they don't spoil me, because I have no idea what they're talking about. :)

I hope you feel better soon! Somehow summer colds seem worse than winter ones, like at least in the winter you're supposed to get a cold. Maybe your friend's husband who ate your chocolates with bites out of them will catch your cold?

Thanks, I'm feeling a lot more energetic today. Totally agree on the suckiness of summer colds -- I couldn't snuggle up under the covers because it's too HOT and our A/C is out! And I couldn't eat soup, also because I was too hot! It was disorienting to not have my normal illness-related comforts.
