I have Lost on the TV right now -- it's the rerun of last season's finale, I think -- and there's this little banner thing at the bottom of the screen explaining everything.  I want to throw up; it's insulting.  They're providing context and backstory, I guess to have the show make sense to new viewers.  But it is SO WRONG.  One newspaper article ( Read more... )

Yeah, I saw that when my mom was watching the re-run. I'm sure it was just people trying to attract a few more viewers to re-runs or whatever, but it was irritating and I don't think it was appreciated by very many people.

Nevertheless, LOST IS BACK TOMORROW! Yay!

I hope we never see those Cliff Notes things again!!!! I couldn't watch the re-run thing yesterday because of them and as a result was sort of forgetting where things had left off tonight, but I figured it out the way anyone else does when they start watching a show that has a lot of sub-plots and characters and weirdness. Argh.

But I'm so glad it's back. What a treat to have NEW TV episodes!

Although I'm sure I would've been equally annoyed by it if I had seen it. I dislike the "dumbing things down" trend!
