Wait, what? Is this a new musical from ALW that for some reason I had absolutely no knowledge of? And is it somehow related to Phantom?

The girl in the video is kind of scary. Otherwise, I am not ashamed to say I enjoyed it haha.

The Phantom has travelled to Coney Island with Madame Giry and her daughter Meg. Beginning his new life in America as a freakshow attraction, he has worked his way up to a position of power and is now the successful architect of a number of Coney Island attractions. Despite his newfound wealth and success he still longs for Christine and manages to arrange for her to come and sing at one of his latest attractions. Christine arrives at Coney Island along with Raoul and their son Gustave, unknowingly returning to the man she feared most.

I know. I KNOW. It's partly based on some published novel that sounds like the worst fanfic of all time, but that's no excuse. I didn't think anything could be sillier than the plot of Phantom, but this proves me wrong. (spoiler) Did you see the part where the kid isn't Raoul's?!

OH NO, IT GETS WORSE. So I'm guessing we're supposed to infer that the kid is the Phantom's then? To be honest, as bad as this sounds, when it eventually shows up in Toronto, I'll probably go.

I do have to say I really like the guy playing the Phantom though!

Haha, I know. I'm so tempted to see it in London when I visit mid-year, even though there are lots of other musicals that I would much rather see. I like the dude playing the Phantom too. But I much prefer Raoul, and hate the thought of him being made a cuckold. I mean, I find the whole dynamic of POTO disturbing in that Christine so clearly prefers the psychotic man who tortures her and her boyfriend. Great to see that this ridiculousness all continues in the sequel.
