Still being afraid of reading a new book, I turned to Corfu while travelling this weekend. It is the perfect travelling book, being itself about journeys, and it was also the perfect accompaniment to my weekend contemplation of nostalgia.

I still want to read this book. It doesn't exist in America. We must've banned it at the border, which makes me want it more. It will be your fault that I start reading my teenage year books! Just sayin'.

I'm still not sure that rereading one's teenage books is a productive nostalgic experience. Perhaps it all hinges upon my next book...

Dessaix is not my thing - I found him too waffly, and I have not been able to get back into Dorian Gray as yet. After buying a new copy I found my old one, grrr, so have a spare. I am deep into biographical material on Queen Victoria.
