It's unbearably hot and I'm sitting here reading LJ instead of going to the sea rebness June 28 2009, 14:50:16 UTC
It makes me wonder if all these channels have back-up documentaries ready to be unleashed the second a celeb corks it... at least Thank God You're Here helps inject some rage-worthy unfunniness into proceedings.

On the KFC grammar front: I still wince when I see Franz Ferdinand's No You Girls song. It's not even, strictly speaking, incorrect, but it rubs me up the wrong way. The title, at least. I love the song. >:)

I expect that many of the channels have obits ready for when the really old celebs cark it, eg. Elizabeth Taylor or Liza Minnelli (who was in my dream last night, OMG, I met her at a McDonald's), but Michael Jackson? They actually expected this?

Thank God You're Here can be really funny sometimes but usually the guest has to wrench control for that to happen. The show has been on the air for quite a few years now, but they still haven't moved beyond "everyone has a script except one guy" as the primary setup for the humour.

Ahaha, I like that song title! It's all "no your face" and, as you know, I find that sort of thing to be the height of wit.

Your PM is on TWITTER! I am so jealous!

Also your bitchy mood is super scary.

Yeah! And he actually updates himself! And writes about going to the movies, and says nice things about retiring members of the Opposition! It's awesome.

I know, rite. Never get between an angry star and its punctuation.

Well Malcolm certainly in all the polls published this morning got what he deserved for his efforts to smear the PM last week. Now he and Abbott are 'playing' the victim claiming they are now being smeared, now that some members of the ALP have dug up some interesting info on one of his ministerial decisions in the previous government as Environment Minister.

Odd how all the sloganeering he had about saving the world from Climate Change inserted in his election material (to see off a Green candidate who appeared to be threatening him in his electorate last election) has gone out the window in his strategy to oppose the Government at any turn, regardless of the policy.

That strategy never works, the Opposition just look like immature antagonists. I suppose it's better than agreeing with the Government on some issues, which cost Labor one or two elections against John Howard. Politicians seem to forget that voters have long memories, and yes, what you did in the past can come back to haunt you.

Nah, it's more than them both being dandies or overweight. It's in Matt's wit and his awesome quips!

I follow KRudd on Twitter too, and quite love that he's there. So daggy. He was surprisingly good on Rove. I'm not above stalking members of the Australian comedy scene too.

Couldn't agree more about Shane Bourne, especially that massively over-the-top laugh at the hint of a joke. Shut UP Shane Bourne, I say that often during that show.

Stomper Girl.

Thanks so much for your comment! I also like seeing comedians on Twitter, especially when they're actually funny. Cal Wilson updates while watching Masterchef and is hilarious. And it's so good I'm not alone in being annoyed at Shane Bourne and his terrible laugh!!
