18 of them this time around. I've got Aussie Animals and Transformers (both the 2007 movie and of Sunstorm) this time. The Aussie animals are from pictures I took. ( Aussie Animals )
Yes, Magpies are EVIL!!!! (has been divebombed one too many times in her life), Pluvers you at least hear coming, Magpies are silent.
I've never actually been chased by an Emu before.
#10 had me giggling like a loon when I went back and looked at her face in the screencap, a little voice in the back of my head was going "Must icon that! Must! Must! Must!"
*nods* I was pretty close to that Emu when I took the pic, thankfully on the other side of the fence. This one was not only hissing, but making weird clucking noises in the back of its throat. The two keepers were being really careful. One of them had a rake and the other wouldn't turn his back to it.
*nods* You should see some of the faces that Sam pulls!
*laughs* You don't like Cassowarys? I love them... from a distance, with something large, like a tree or a car between me and it.
That was one pissed off Emu when I took that pic. Fluffed up to hell and back, hissing and clucking at the keepers.
I think Magpies are a beautiful bird, but at certain points of the year I hates them! You could pick the Aussies in the Audience of the birdshow. The Magpie flew out and every single Aussie dropped to the floor swearing.
*nods* I think they're gorgeous, but they can be quite terrifying. I always make sure I keep something big between me and it if I see them in the wild (have done a couple of times).
I'm not sure if it was male or not. I thought it was female 'cause I heard the keeper say something about 'keep an eye on her, she's psycho'.
I was one of the ones dropping. I had students with me who gave me a funny look 'cause I swore as I hit the floor. They hadn't heard me swear before.
*loves on Mikaela* I have that scene cap'd somewhere, only with a caption about drugs and why we don't use them on it :B The humans (and some of the bots) in that movie make the greatest faces :D
And while I can't say anything about magpies, from the sounds of it, they talked blue jays into doing the job in the States. Or maybe all birds are inherently evil.
Best face caps I've got so far are in this order : Judy, Sam, Mikaela.
I was at a birdshow when I took that pic. You could spot the Aussies in the audience 'cause every single one of us swore and hit the deck really fast! The tourists were all giving us this 'WTF?' look.
Magpies scare the crap out of me 'cause they're silent when they attack. We've also got this bird called a Pluver... I hate pluvers (extremely sharp spur on their wing that they like to slice and dice with), but I'd rather get swooped by one of those than a Magpie. Pluvers like to make this funny call just as they're about to swoop so you hear them coming. Magpies are silent.
I think it's just all birds are inherently psychotic. Magpies have been known to attack moving semi-trucks.... and I now have this mental image of a Magpie doing that to Prime *headdesk*.

Emus are funny, but I've never seen an angry Emu myself - on TV, yes.
@__@ Magpies are the bane of spring and even a little bit of summer.

Was it a male by anychance? cos if so, it might have been cose it either had young or eggs nearby. I heard they get VERY territorial as well.
Yea, I would too. Ugg. Flying magpie = Swooping times to me.

By the way, that icon of yours cracks me up! And it made me double take when I first saw it (you're lucky I'd just put my drink down)
