I'm having a problem with something:

Christians say to praise jesus because he died for my sins so i wouldn't have to pay for them.

notice me not capitalizing his name.

I've never understood that and I don't think I ever will.
a christian guy said to me once:
its like jesus is sitting in a courtroom, and you're being charged for all of your wrong

there's several ways to look at it. personally i think its stupid too, i know it's meant to be symbolic but he really didnt die for my sins, i hadnt committed any yet and any that i do commit in my lifetime i will go to hell for, so i dont see any need to be grateful
it's good to have an open mind though, and one of the ways i look at christianity right now, is that all these atheists are always saying "if there is a god, why is there rape, murder, etc" and the answer is that "god" cant prevent you from doing bad things during life but the hope is that the threat of going to hell will scare these bad people away from raping and murdering.

julia...i'm not saying you don't suffer, but the yay-christianity part of me has to say that jesus did as well...and i know you said you can't buy it, but jesus died so you don't HAVE to suffer anymore, so you can *let* him pay for your sins for you.
i'm not trying to force all that on you, it's just what i personally believe...it works for me, but if it doesn't work for you, that's fine. i love you julia!!!
