"You will come back every Wednesday of your world." Trunks said, standing before his student. "Which is Sunday here. Your class starts at exactly one o'clock. Do not be tardy." Teri nodded. "During the duration of your training, you will cut back on sweets and fatty foods, concentrating on mostly carbohydrates and proteins. Fruits and vegetables are fine as well, but you will need the proteins and carbos to get you through this. Also, you will wear this at least two hours a day." He handed Teri what looked like a vest, but weighed almost as much as the turtle shell. "It should fit. And I do not mean that you can put it on and go to bed. You need to be moving while wearing it. If you follow these guides, you should be flying sometime near the middle of next year."

Inside, Teri let out a mental groan. She would have to train for nearly a year before she could fly. Trunks must've seen her disappointment in her face. "Don't worry." He said "The time will go by faster than you might think. And don't you have to work hard to get anything worth having?"

Teri nodded and sighed. "I guess I should be thankful." She said. "You could be giving me the crash course and throwing me off a building."

Trunks blinked at her. "All that would do is give you an incurable fear of heights."

"Already have one."

"You're afraid of heights and you want to learn to fly?"

"If I can fly, I won't be afraid anymore."

" . . . Is everyone in your world this weird?"

"Nope."

"There you two are!" They looked up as Bulma walked around then side of Capsule Corp. "Teri, I thought you were going back to your world! Don't tell me you're going for another 'walk'." Teri could see what she meant. Every day for the past week, they had walked around the city, she with her magenta shell, he with a large picnic basket. They stopped at noon to eat and rest, but Trunks made up for it by leading her on a slightly longer route.

"No, Kaa-san." Trunks said. I was just giving her a few last minute instructions. And also, I want to go with her to this 'portal' and see what that's like."

"Oh, alright." Bulma said. "Just don't take that horrid shell with you."

"Don't worry, we won't." Trunks said. Bulma waved and walked back inside. Trunks turned to Teri. "But I do want you to wear the vest."

Teri made a face and pulled on the heavy vest over her t-shirt. Over that, she wore her backpack. "Ok," she sighed. "Follow me."

They walked across the city, not talking much. People waved as they walked past, but for the most part, student and teacher entertained their own thoughts. Soon they hit the fields outside of town and Teri took the lead, leading the way to where she remembered the portal being. Finally she stopped, looking around. "Ok," she said slowly, "I'm pretty sure this where it was." She un-shouldered her pack and pulled out one of the GPS turned RIFT remotes. "Let's see if it works." She punched in the numbers. Almost immediately, a few yards away, the blue portal opened. "I'll see you in a few days, Trunks-Sensei. If I'm not there, then the remotes don't work and I'm lost in an unfamiliar dimension."

"I guess I can live with that." Trunks replied. "See you then-I hope."

Teri waved and stepped through the portal.

"Ok, where is she?" Lorin demanded, folding her arms.

"Look," Keeren said, sticking her head out the door of their dorm room. "Teri doesn't feel well and she doesn't want to be disturbed, ok?"

"No-k." Lorin replied. "Teri!" she yelled. "Teri, if you don't tell Keeren to let me in right now-"

"Gotta go!" Keeren said, slamming the door shut. She turned and sagged against the wood. Friends, acquaintances, and teachers had been stopping by for the past week, asking or demanding to speak with Teri. "Oh, when that girl gets back, she is SO gonna get her butt kicked." Keeren muttered.

Suddenly, a low BWAMMMN filled the air. Keeren stood up straight as the portal opened before her. Teri stepped through, wearing a strange flesh- toned vest over her shirt. "Hi, K-chan!" she said brightly.

"TEEEERRRRIIII!" Keeren screeched, tackling the older woman. They fell to the floor with a thud, Keeren sitting on Teri's stomach, glaring angrily.

"Nice to see you too?" Teri winced.

"Don't give me that bloody 'Nice to see you too' shit!" Keeren snapped "You've had everyone worried sick about you! You go take off without a word of warning, we've had to tell people you were sick and didn't want to be bugged, what were we supposed to do? Lorin was just here a minute ago, demanding to see you!"

"Should've told them I was at home." Teri replied.

"I couldn't!" Keeren exclaimed, "Your parents called! AND Ace called your parents!"

"Friggin' hell." Teri muttered. She shoved Keeren off of her and rolled over, the vest making this more difficult. "Well, I'm back now. No more taking off unexpectedly. Ok?"

"Where did you go?"

"Not telling until Christmas."

"NOT fair."

"Deal."

Keeren prodded the vest. "What the hell is this thing?"

"My punishment and training. He's teaching me stuff."

"Who? Teaching what?"

"You'll find out."

"Kuso..."
