so i read that the matrix was a joint venture with GM, and that the matrix and vibe share the same engine made by toyota. however, the cars are made with different metal on the outside to make them look different, and slightly different styling on the interior of the car. they also differ in price by about $1000, the matrix being the cheaper one. fascinating.
