Somehow I've found myself hooked on the World Cup. Mainly, I cannot tell a lie, for the hot guys. I know very little, but I know which ones I hope take their shirts off. Pity it's winter in South Africa. I'm cheering for New Zealand because they have dudes on their team with day jobs, so I figure they need all the help they can get. And ( Read more... )

Here's my attitude about soccer: Come for the hot guys, stay for the sport. I manage to forget how hot they are until World Cup rolls around every four years, but maybe I'll remember for longer this time.

I just read about the New Zealand team having day jobs! How does that even work? I mean, everyone who's competing had to make it through the qualifying rounds, right? Pretty impressive.

I already had some vague awareness of the hotness of Thierry Henry for some reason, but I was oblivious to pretty much everyone else. That changed very quickly.

I know, right? Like, some of them play international soccer one day, then put on a suit and go to the office the next. Crazy. At the end of the Italy game, they kept showing their respective world rankings (which were something like fifth and eighty-ninth) like some kind of visual representation of, "We have no idea how this tie is happening."
