In classic Sadie fashion, she ignores all the chatter and gossip the students make as she passes them, focusing just on her map and self. The only thing that could possibly distract her would be one of three people: Charlotte, Adam, or Leon. But

Charlotte is walking hurriedly down the other way, frantically, pressing one hand to her mouth. She spots Sadie.

Sadie. Can I talk t you please?

And say what? 'Hey, baby, I love you but I decided to let my best friend kiss me 'cause I'm still sweet on him after two years?'

Not in those words, but I think that might be the gist.

Oh he's going to hate me, just like Adam already hates me and oh my God that kiss was not good enough to be worth all this!

[sadieackerley]

Charlotte, darling, a deep breath. Calm down.

I'm afraid you and Leon are quite serious. And in such a serious relationship, you shouldn't still be feeling sweet on anyone, particularly someone with whom you spend so much time. Or who clearly fancies you back. So...something must be done, either to completely end it with you and Adam...or with you and Leon.

That's...that's not fair. Sadie, I...he's my best friend. He's my baby, I can't just...cut him out like that. I can't do that.

And Leon, oh my God, are you serious, I can't do that to him either.

[sadieackerley]

You don't have the right to lead either of them on.

[halfback_char]

Don't be mad at me, Sadie, really, I'd die if you hated me too.

I don't mean to lead anyone on. I love Leon. He's perfect. I love him. We've been together for two years. I love him.

But Adam is my best friend. He's my baby, I tell him everything, we play, and he's fun and I don't know what I'm going to do without him.

What am I going to do...

*covers her face again and tries to calm down*

I don't hate you. Please don't think I hate you. And Adam doesn't hate you either, and if in the end you're honest with Leon, he won't hate you, either.

Like I said, if it's not obvious, then you've gotten yourself into quite the corner, Charlotte dear. Either you love Leon and you want to be with him...or you want a better kiss.

Sadie, you didn't see the way he looked at me. If I pick Leon, Sadie, Adam's going to hate me.

What would you do?

Charlotte, at this point, no matter what you do, someone is going to be hurt. There's nothing to can do to stop it or prevent it. You can only control YOUR emotions. So as selfish as it might seem, the healthiest thing is to put yourself first which shouldn't be too hard.

So stop thinking about how they will feel. Think about how YOU will feel, and what YOU want to do.

*covers her eyes and bites her bottom lip*

Sadie, what would you do?

Me?

I wouldn't have gotten myself in such a position, Charlotte.

I know. I know, you're a much better person than I am, you don't tease like me.

But if you did. Please, Sadie, I'm just curious.

I don't know, Charlotte. Because I don't really know how much you like Adam or Leon. Only you know it.

But if I said I loved someone, but fancied someone as much as you fancy Adam, I'd reconsider my decisions.

I don't fancy Adam. I used to. But he didn't like me back and I started dating Leon and I'm happy oh my God Sadie why does this hurt so bad.
