that balance is really, really tough. i'm trying to get more involved IRL, but honestly, there are so many barriers! child for one. location (most stuff isn't in LB, it's in LA, which is far and traffic-laden). time. school. ugh.

maybe there are more things you can do at home, like editing/writing and stuff like that.

*hug*

you're doing a great job, mama.

thank you. a big part of this is letting go of the idea that I have to do everything. No, I really DONT have to do everything! wow!

yeah and it's hard when the places/groups we as mamas may want to be involved in are cluekless about what it means to do this kind of work when you ahve a young child.

It is hard to find the balance, but it seems like you do pretty well.

omg. is this the smallest font in the world? lol. did i push the wrong button?

as chreebomb said, there's a lot of behind the scenes stuff that needs to be done - not glamorous, but necessary. you can just prioritize which things are important enough to pull you away from your household.

and, as to remembering, i leave myself post-its around the house and in my purse. "don't get drive-through coffee." "don't answer your cell phone while driving." "don't leave the house until you've done two loads of laundry." etc. post-its are magical. of course... they're made by 3m, which may be a horrible company. not sure. you can buy them at whole-foods, too, from some other manufacturer...

LOL, I love post-its. I'm actually buying a new planner today so i have one that's big enough to put post it-s in...kind of instead of a to-do list, I'll have to-do post its. It's how I keep track of stuff at work and it's effective...so, yeah, I could stick post its in there that I'll coe across in a week, a month, to remind me of what's most important.

I used to put little signs up but they always became part of the landscape for me, y'know?

yeah. i grew up in a house with my mom's little signs "love yourself" "you're a good person" "donuts are not a good idea"

thankfully, i stopped 'seeing' them after a while, too. lol.
