I love this. It's short but it says really every emotion it needs to. I'm actually a little surprised there isn't more Dean/Mary in the fandom. I guess that's a different line crossed than Dean/John? *frowny face* Fandom is confusing.

One reason for the lack of Dean/Mary-fics, I guess, is that it's het. And slash, even of the paternal incest variety, seems to be preferred. :)

Somehow, though, In The Beginning made this pairing (as well as similar John/Dean) much, much more appealing to me. I'm happy you liked the result.

In the Beginning made this pairing appealing, even plausible, to me. Same goes for similar John/Dean. Which was a complete surprise, considering that my reaction before to every incest-fic with parent/child pairing has been firmly negative.

This was nicely done. I wasn't sure I wanted to read this pairing but you packed so much emotion into such a short space and instead of being squicky it was heart breaking. Great job!

This pairing seems to be in disfavour; considering that parental incest is, generally speaking, frowned upon, and that this is het, I'm not surprised.

Can't you just see this pairing working? Especially when you further shuffle the deck with the possibilities of In the Beginning? Besides, GSA's a fascinating addendum in the human psychology... and how easy it is to interpret the attraction and familiarity with lust...

I'm happy you liked this. The pairing was one I was pretty damn sure no one'd bother reading. ;)
