Things I have accomplished in the last 24 hours:

  • Filed my taxes

  • Watched last night's SPN (spoiler! Sam Winchester's face was beautiful!)

  • Graded all but the short answer sections of the midterms

  • Rewatched 'Secretary' for the first time since my original viewing six years ago. I admit- I didn't get it back then, but this time I was blown away ( Read more... )

The fact that I won't get a chance to watch the new SPN until Tuesday causes me GREAT PAIN. I may relieve said pain by going to see Watchmen again.

^_^ LOL, your list is awesome. Though much of it has to do with watching things on a screen. *g*

Hey- cool people spend most of their time watching things on their screens! Right? ;-p

I NEED to see Watchmen again. I went to the midnight showing on opening night, but I was EXHAUSTED and just couldn't stay with it. Luckily, I am now on spring break for a week and can spend all the time I want indulging in such things. :D

I need to rewatch Secretary! I have been meaning to do that for ages!

And I also watched an episode of QaF for the first time since... a while ago on Wednesday, and was struck by Mr. Kinney's continued awesome. <33

I remember being SO taken aback when I first saw the movie- I was exactly the type of person I think they WANTED to see the film, someone who'd never been exposed to d/s before and could be shown that it can absolutely be part of a loving, healthy relationship. It was so foreign at the time (MY GOD WAS I SHELTERED) that I wasn't sure how to process it.

Now, I'm over the shock and can just enjoy how well they ravel out all the complexities of the main characters' lives and tell a damn good love story in the process.

BRIAN KINNEY I LOVE YOU. I was SO turned off by Brian when I first started watching QAF and it didn't take long before I realized that he was one of the most gloriously layered and complex characters I've ever encountered. I'm watching early S2 now and just... OH MY GOD HE LOVES JUSTIN SO MUCH IT HURTS TO WATCH.

I watched 2.03 on Wednesday, and God, when he and Justin are on the street together, and all smiley and happy and looking at each other, I DIE.

How did you initially watch QaF? Because my unscientific research so far shows that if you watched one episode at a time with gaps in between in s1, you're less likely to love Brian.

I watched the first three seasons in chunks with my friends, a few episodes at a time. I think the deal was that we started watching as Hal Sparks fans- it was the summer of the first round of 'I Love the 80s' and we all thought he was absurdly adorable. We were supremely unimpressed by Brian in the pilot, actually not finding him that attractive (BLASPHEMY)- I really don't think that it was until we saw how devasted he was by Justin's bashing that we really loved him. We'd RESPECTED him by that point- OMG MICHAEL'S BIRTHDAY PARTY- but we didn't love.

Now, I just REVEL in him, in every assholish move and seemingly inexplicable bout of dickish behaviour.
