umberela. So this chapter is a hot mess :| And I totally apologize. Starting either tomorrow or Saturday I'll be going on a hiatus to write the two fics for
help_japan. Idk how long the hiatus will be, but hopefully not too long because I need to finish the fics \o///
Chapter 1 Chapter 2 Chapter 3 Chapter 4 Chapter 5 Chapter 6 Zhou Mi got to school early on Tuesday. Kyuhyun had rolled around in bed for twenty minutes, complaining about how early it was, and that he didn’t have to be in until 7:30, and Zhou Mi had just laughed, nudging him every time he passed the bed. Kyuhyun finally pulled himself up as Zhou Mi was getting his shoes on, and he waited by the door as Kyuhyun ran around, looking for the bag that he had brought that had his uniform in it.
“Closet?” Zhou Mi asked, patiently not looking at his phone to tell him how late he was going to be.
“Checked there already.” Kyuhyun leaned down and tried to stick his head under the couch. There was a muffled shout of triumph and he pulled out the bag.
Zhou Mi sighed, looking at the ceiling with a fond smile on his face as Kyuhyun immediately began stripping and redressing. He grabbed his backpack, shooting Zhou Mi a winning smile. “You’re going to pick up breakfast for us right?”
Zhou Mi shook his head, laughing. He didn’t tell Kyuhyun about the large dust ball he had in his hair until they were almost outside the school gate. It was amusing to watch him flail on the sidewalk trying to get it out of his hair.
“Help me,” he finally whined loudly and Zhou Mi just laughed louder, walking into the school gates and heading to the main hallway.
There were already a few students lingering around, eagerly waiting for the audition results to be put up. Zhou Mi waved to all of the students, but he kept walking because he needed to meet up with Jongwoon to look over the final printout and make sure it had the nice note that read, “thank you for auditioning. Anyone who did not make it will still be eligible for a solo through their classes.” He saw Kyuhyun joining the group of waiting students, dust ball safely out of his hair, and Zhou Mi smiled a bit to himself as he opened the door to Jongwoon’s office.
“Morning,” he said brightly, smile not dimming even at the sight of Jongwoon looking completely frazzled, flashlight in hand as he peered into his computer printer.
“The copier isn’t working.”
Zhou Mi blinked. “But we don’t need copies. We’re just posting up one sheet.”
Jongwoon glowered. “It’s also a printer. And we need an original.” Zhou Mi pulled out a neat handwritten copy of who got the parts and waved it around. Jongwoon lunged around the table, reaching out for it. “You are a life saver. And you have really good handwriting.” He smiled widely, making a show of pulling the paper closer to his face and then further away. “Really good.”
Zhou Mi tried not to blush, but he couldn’t help it. He’d had Kyuhyun write it out for him while he had dictated it, sort of like a test. It had been a game Kyuhyun wanted to play, and Zhou Mi had only agreed because there’d been the promise of very intense sex afterwards, but then he had frozen, not sure what to have Kyuhyun transcribe. And so that had been the first thing that came to mind. Kyuhyun had broken character mid-way through, ruining the game entirely because he had been too busy cheering, having found out who had gotten in, but he’d finished the list, in his best handwriting and gotten a reward for his effort.
Zhou Mi was slightly afraid of when Kyuhyun was planning on collecting his reward, and he’d already begun making plans to lock his classroom during lunch, and telling all the faculty he planned on going out all week so no one would drop by.
“This will do perfectly,” Jongwoon said with a grin and he grabbed Zhou Mi by the arm, pulling him into the hallway.
The students formed a circle around them as Jongwoon taped up the sheet and Zhou Mi wanted to get out of there as soon as possible, because he could just imagine the amount of crying that might surface because someone didn’t get the part.
Zhou Mi caught Kyuhyun’s look as he moved away, and he sent him a small wave. Kyuhyun rolled his eyes and made a show of going up and seeing his name, smiling coolly at it. The other students congratulated him, which was nice of them since a lot of them seemed to be trying not to shoot glares at him, and Zhou Mi headed to his classroom. He didn’t want to handle anyone else who might cry.
Kyuhyun showed up at lunch. Zhou Mi wasn’t that surprised, and he just nodded as Kyuhyun locked the door.
“So looks like you don’t have to give me a detention today.”
“You didn’t laugh at anyone who cried?”
Kyuhyun grinned. “To be fair, everyone seemed to hide the fact that they were upset when I walked past.”
“Your reputation proceeds you, I see.”
Kyuhyun hummed and then let out a laugh, taking a seat across from Zhou Mi’s desk. “So. You know why I’m here, right?”
Zhou Mi sighed. “You want your reward, I figure.”
“Don’t act like you aren’t going to enjoy this,” Kyuhyun said with a smirk.
“I never said that. Just tell me what you want, and you can have it. Anything.”
Kyuhyun nodded, looking contemplative. “Well, see, ideally, my reward would be letting me be under your desk a whole class period-“
“No.”
Kyuhyun let out a sigh, “But since I figured that was going to be your answer, I’ll settle for doing it now.”
Zhou Mi had been expecting this, but his mouth still went dry at the idea that it was about to happen. He nodded slowly, pushing his chair back so Kyuhyun could get in between his legs. Kyuhyun pulled him forward, forcing himself underneath the desk.
“Do some work,” Kyuhyun mumbled before he unzipped Zhou Mi’s pants and he bit his lip. Kyuhyun’s fingers rested on his thighs and it burned through his trousers.
He didn’t have any work, just some blank sheets of music, so he decided to just start jotting down random notes and hope for the best. He had to keep both hands above the desk, because whenever he reached underneath his desk to try and urge Kyuhyun to move faster, he just got his hands swatted away.
It took five measures of notes before Kyuhyun ran his tongue from base to tip. Zhou Mi let out a gasp as he gripped his pen harder. He didn’t want to keep working on the notes. He wanted to lean back, and enjoy this, but Kyuhyun seemed intent on this fantasy, and Zhou Mi had to admit, that sitting here, trying to work, just made him harder as Kyuhyun slowly began to suck.
He let out another sound, raising his hips just a bit, and Kyuhyun let him. Zhou Mi was grateful because he wasn’t sure if he could sit here and not make sounds. Kyuhyun’s mouth was still going slow, tongue and teeth just not working in the best combination, and Zhou Mi knew it was because he was teasing him. They had all lunch period after all.
He groaned and tried to move his hips a bit more. Kyuhyun hit the back of the desk as he was pushed back and the thud echoed through the classroom. Zhou Mi wanted to apologize, but then Kyuhyun took his cock all the way down his throat and he shut his eyes.
“Fuck,” Zhou Mi cursed and this time when he reached down to grab hold of Kyuhyun’s hair he wasn’t stopped. He let out another curse as he leaned back in his seat, forcing Kyuhyun to go faster now that he had him under his control.
Kyuhyun had relaxed his jaw, and was letting Zhou Mi thrust his cock in and out of his mouth. Zhou Mi gasped, going faster, and Kyuhyun’s grip on his thighs just urged him on.
He was getting close and he pulled Kyuhyun’s mouth off of him. He smirked at Kyuhyun’s glazed over eyes and helped him up.
“Over the desk.”
Kyuhyun let out a shaky laugh, getting into position. “I just wanted to do that one thing.”
Zhou Mi nodded, reaching around to undo Kyuhyun’s pants. “I know. But look at this as something extra.”
“Didn’t actually think you would be willing to do this.”
Zhou Mi closed his eyes, pushing Kyuhyun’s pants down after he had grabbed the lube out of his pocket. “Then why did you have this in your pocket?”
Kyuhyun laughed again, head falling forward. “Just because I didn’t think you would be willing to do it, doesn’t mean I wasn’t hoping.”
“Fair enough.”
Zhou Mi pushed the lube out onto his fingers and he started to prep Kyuhyun. He didn’t feel the need to start slow, and Kyuhyun hissed as two fingers went inside him. He rested his other hand on Kyuhyun’s lower back, steadying him as he scissored his fingers inside Kyuhyun.
He was only half paying attention to the time, but he knew that once he was inside Kyuhyun he wouldn’t be able to last long. The thrill of doing this was too much. He glanced around, pushing in a third finger, and all he could think about was the fact that he was here everyday, and he sat at this desk everyday. And now all he’d see would be Kyuhyun, bent over like this.
Wasn’t too bad of a thought.
“Ready?” He asked, wrapping his hand around his cock and putting the rest of the lube on it.
Kyuhyun nodded, and then Zhou Mi was inside him.
Kyuhyun gasped, fingers gripping the edge of his desk.
“We should be quiet,” Zhou Mi muttered, pulling out, only to push forward again. He bit back his own groan but Kyuhyun couldn’t seem to.
By the time he had done it again he no longer cared that Kyuhyun was almost screaming, and biting into his forearm to stop the sound. Their voices echoed in the empty classroom, their voices and the slap of flesh, and he focused on that, wondering if that’s what it had sounded like that first afternoon, on top of the piano.
He closed his eyes, getting lost in the sounds. Kyuhyun was screaming in pleasure, and he pounded his fist on the desk, disrupting the papers. Zhou Mi didn’t care as he cursed and came hard, deep inside Kyuhyun. Kyuhyun followed after a moment, Zhou Mi needing to reach around and give his cock a few more strokes before he did finally come, screaming.
It was a good thing the room was sound proof, Zhou Mi thought as he pulled out and collapsed back into his chair. Kyuhyun dropped to his knees, head resting on the side of the desk. Zhou Mi looked at his pants, and he was glad that they were around his ankles because otherwise they would have been stained. He then looked at Kyuhyun, still a puddle on his knees.
“That. Was bad,” Zhou Mi said with a breath and Kyuhyun laughed, finger reaching up to wipe through the come on his desk.
“I just hope those papers weren’t important.”
Zhou Mi laughed and shook his head. “No. They really weren’t.”
“Good, because I’m pretty sure they are ruined.”
Kyuhyun had plans to meet up with Yoochun and Gahee to begin working on their performance, and so it was just Zhou Mi and Henry after school. He purposely didn’t sit anywhere near his desk, because it had been hard enough through the rest of his classes, and most especially the final one, where Kyuhyun had just kept staring at it, eyes slightly glazed over.
Zhou Mi didn’t know what exactly to say to Henry, because since they were alone, and they both knew it felt like they should have a conversation beyond, “please remember that G is lower than A,” and “straighten your back, but relax your shoulders.” Maybe not the full out, “you won’t believe what just happened during lunch,” conversation, because it seemed like Kyuhyun had already had that one covered, but maybe just a simple, “how are you holding up? Do you want to talk about it? Do you want to interrogate me?”
“What do you two talk about?”
Zhou Mi blinked, and stared at Henry who was looking straight at his music sheet. “Excuse me?”
Henry let out a strained laugh and he finally looked up. “Sorry, it’s just. It’s awkward. And I thought maybe if we talked it wouldn’t be, but it’s actually even more awkward now.”
Zhou Mi couldn’t help it. He laughed. “I was just thinking the exact same thing.”
“It’s like, I know things about you that I’d really prefer not to, and just the idea is so weird because you’re Mr. Joo, who is tall and gangly and was super nice to me my first semester, super nice to everyone. And you’re all smile. I mean, all the first years call you Mr. Smile! Did you know that?”
Zhou Mi nodded, smiling faintly. “Yeah. I knew.”
“But I can’t look at you anymore and see that because you’re with Kyuhyun, and so it’s really weird.”
Zhou Mi wasn’t sure if this entire conversation was good or not. And he definitely wasn’t sure if he should say his part, where he basically pulled his hair out and threw a tantrum over you were sleeping with Ryeowook all your first year!
He took a breath. “Would you prefer to hold off on practice until Kui Xian comes back?”
“No! No I’m not saying that. I’m just saying, that I’m not trying to be rude. I’m just not sure this whole thing can work.”
“What thing?” Zhou Mi was very confused at the moment.
“This, argh,” Henry made a face, stretching his mouth wide open like it would make the words come easier. “Friendship.”
Zhou Mi blinked. “Friendship?”
“Yes. I’m not being rude, but I don’t think you and I can ever be friends, and it’s just. You’re still Mr. Joo to me!”
“I. Don’t want to be friends?” Still confused.
“Okay. So. We can go back to purely student and teacher right? No personal lives and what not?”
“I never wanted that?”
“Okay. I mean, maybe one day. When I’m older, and Kyuhyun is older, and I don’t see you everyday as my teacher, we can talk, because I’m sure you’re really awesome but-“
“Henry. Shut up and give me an A.” Zhou Mi was rubbing his temple, completely thrown by this entire conversation.
“A.”
Zhou Mi took a deep breath, picked up a piece of paper, wadded it up and threw it at Henry’s head. “You little shit,” he mumbled even as Henry began to laugh so hard he was in danger of falling off his chair.
Zhou Mi was glad when the door opened a few moments later, Henry still in full out laughter and Changmin stuck his head in, confused.
“Laughter. Therapy?”
Zhou Mi leaned back in his seat and beckoned Changmin in. “Please. Come in. Maybe with you here he’ll be able to focus. It’s awful without Kui Xian here to keep him in line.”
Changmin stood at the door, staring at both of them before nodding and coming in. “I’m getting extra credit for this, right?”
Henry shoved his shoulder. “Of course you don’t. You just get the honor of practicing with the teacher.”
Changmin glanced at Zhou Mi, obviously taken aback by Henry’s teasing tone, and why Zhou Mi was letting him get away with it. Zhou Mi just sighed and handed him the sheet music, letting him follow along with them. They ran through the song five times, and by the time they were finished Henry was close to getting the song perfect.
They packed up, Zhou Mi moving quicker once he realized Henry was making Changmin wait for him, and the three of them left the classroom together. Zhou Mi had every intention of slowing his pace and letting the two of them go on ahead, but Henry kept looking back at him, and engaging him in conversation.
“Hey Mr. Joo, what was that song you were talking about? The one you said had a heavy instrumental to offset the harder lyrics?”
“I honestly can’t remember. I talk about a lot of songs.”
Henry let out a huff and turned back to Changmin. “Either way, that’s what ‘dissonance’ is like.”
Zhou Mi tried to slow down a bit more, not because he didn’t appreciate the English lesson Henry seemed to be giving Changmin, but because he didn’t have anything to contribute to the conversation. He’d just stand out, walking beside both of them. Probably like he did whenever he was next to Kyuhyun, but at least then he didn’t care what people thought. Kyuhyun had that ability.
“Hey Mr. Joo, how would describe the word- oh hey Kyuhyun!”
Zhou Mi stopped. They were almost at the subway. He’d been planning on sending Kyuhyun a text to tell him that he was going home and to pick up dinner if he was coming home anytime soon. Henry was waving and Zhou Mi couldn’t help turning around, a grin appearing on his face as he saw Kyuhyun jogging to catch up with them.
He slowed down once he reached them, resting his hand on Zhou Mi’s shoulder as he caught his breath and Zhou Mi let out a sigh, placing his hand on Kyuhyun’s side so he would stay steady.
“How was practice?” Zhou Mi asked, voice teasing.
“Good. Long. Good.” Kyuhyun stood up to his full height and he smiled at Zhou Mi before looking at Henry and Changmin, stepping away from Zhou Mi as if he realized what he was doing. “They are thinking of some tragic love ballad. Something with strings and a piano and maybe a bit of R&B. I mostly just sat around and told them I’d sing whatever they wanted.”
Zhou Mi laughed. “That sounds about right,” he said at the same time Changmin spoke.
“You’re so lazy. I thought it was supposed to be a team effort.” He was laughing though.
Kyuhyun rolled his eyes. “It is. They wanted me to sing so they could see how sorrowful my voice can get.” He shrugged. “I’m no old time Japanese enka singer but they seem to think I can pass off heartbreak pretty well if I try.”
“Well that will be the day. You never try,” Changmin said, grabbing Kyuhyun around the shoulders, pulling him towards the subway. “Now, are you coming over tonight or what?”
Kyuhyun laughed and ducked out of Changmin’s hold. “Not tonight.”
“What? Another hot date?” Changmin reached out and pinched Kyuhyun’s cheek.
He batted Changmin’s hand away. “If you want someone, hang out with Henry. I have plans.”
Changmin’s hand fell and he let out a sigh, looking at Henry. “You always have plans.”
“I just spent the whole weekend with you!”
“No you spent the whole weekend on Starcraft. I just happened to be in the room.”
“You can always play with us.”
“I like human interaction.”
“So Henry’s perfect for you. He likes that thing too,” Kyuhyun said with a laugh, pointing to Henry. Changmin looked from Kyuhyun to Henry before rolling his eyes.
Henry shrugged, and Zhou Mi saw him glance at him. “Maybe tomorrow?” Henry tried to defuse the situation, probably afraid that Changmin and Kyuhyun might legitimately get into a fight.
Kyuhyun grinned. “Maybe.”
Changmin frowned and adjusted his bag. “I’m guessing maybe means no.”
Zhou Mi watched Kyuhyun sigh and it hit him that Kyuhyun was giving up a chance to be with his friends to stay with him. He didn’t like that.
“Why don’t you go with them?” Kyuhyun turned to him, frowning, while Changmin began to grin. “Go with them,” Zhou Mi urged. “I’m sure your millionaire’s wife won’t mind you being a little late.” There, go for teasing. Be like one of them, get inside their jokes.
Changmin grinned, opening his mouth to echo that sentiment but Kyuhyun just let out a sigh and turned away. “See you tomorrow guys.” He waved and Changmin followed after him.
Zhou Mi and Henry exchanged a look and Zhou Mi let out a sigh, following after Changmin and Kyuhyun. “I’ll see you tomorrow.”
“You too Mr. Joo. Have a good night.”
Kyuhyun was already inside the subway gate, heading towards their apartment. No. Headed towards Zhou Mi’s apartment. It wasn’t theirs’. Changmin was standing outside the gate, because he train went in the other direction and Zhou Mi tried to be invisible as he went through the turnstile.
“You don’t live in this direction!” Changmin was shouting. People were looking at him and Kyuhyun, but neither of them seemed to mind.
“I told you,” Kyuhyun called back, turning around with a grin. “I’m going to my millionaire girlfriend’s house. Her husband is out of town.”
“You know one day I might believe you!”
“Bye Changmin!” Kyuhyun gave a final wave and then jogged down the stairs towards the train tracks. Zhou Mi followed, and he found his way next to Kyuhyun soon enough.
“How was practice with those two?” Kyuhyun asked once they were on the train.
“Unproductive.” Kyuhyun laughed and Zhou Mi tilted his head down so he could whisper in Kyuhyun’s ear. “You don’t need to ditch your friends for me. I understand.”
He winced as he felt Kyuhyun pinch him, and he turned his head to the side so Kyuhyun could speak into his ear. “I’ve told you. I want to spend time with you. So stop being so fussy and just accept it.”
Zhou Mi nodded, and pressed a kiss to Kyuhyun’s temple, not caring who saw.
“Your phone is going off.”
Kyuhyun was taking a shower. It was almost ten and they’d already had dinner. Zhou Mi had decided that what they had left over would be good for a breakfast or lunch, so he put them away in two separate dishes so they could take them into school tomorrow. They’d tried the whole get up early and make lunch thing the past week, but it hadn’t worked out that well.
“Like a text?” Kyuhyun asked, and it was muffled by the bathroom door.
“No I think someone’s calling you. It’s that crap pop song you have.”
“Well why don’t you answer it?”
Zhou Mi stared at the bathroom door in complete shock. How could he even suggest that? He looked at Kyuhyun’s phone, where it was sitting on the table on the other side of the room. “I’m sure it can wait.”
The phone stopped ringing and Zhou Mi went back to packing up their bags. He’d take his shower in the morning, since he could already hazard a guess about what they would be doing tonight.
The song started again, and Zhou Mi looked at Kyuhyun’s phone.
“Is my phone ringing again?” Kyuhyun asked, still with the shower running and Zhou Mi nodded.
He knew Kyuhyun couldn’t see him so he zipped their bags up and headed to the bathroom door. Better than shouting across the apartment. “Probably important.”
“Who is it?” Zhou Mi thought he had been pretty quiet with his sigh and eye roll but Kyuhyun just laughed. “I’m not asking you to answer, just who is it? If it’s Changmin then I’ll want you to answer in a high pitched voice, or something.”
Zhou Mi shook his head but he went to grab Kyuhyun’s phone. It had stopped ringing and he opened it, going through the missed calls.
Home.
Zhou Mi swallowed.
“Who was it?”
“Your parents.”
The shower shut off.
They’d been doing so well about avoiding this topic, sort of like the whole fact that Zhou Mi was his teacher and he was still technically dating someone. They just closed their eyes, threw themselves into each other and everything else went away. Zhou Mi hadn’t even heard Kyuhyun mention his parents almost ever. But they were there, of course. And of course they must be worried about their son. They cared enough about him to let him pursue his dreams, but barring the weekend (and not even then since Kyuhyun had been with Changmin all weekend) Kyuhyun had been spending every night with Zhou Mi.
Kyuhyun opened the bathroom door just as the phone started ringing again. They both stared at it.
“You should answer it.”
Kyuhyun looked up at Zhou Mi and frowned. “No.”
“What do you mean ‘no’?”
“Mi, she’s probably just calling to check up on me. I’ll call her tomorrow and tell her I fell asleep at Changmin’s place. I’ve done it before.”
“She’s called three times in a row. She’s worried.”
The phone stopped ringing and Zhou Mi put it in Kyuhyun’s hands. “You need to call her back.”
“Why?”
“Because, she’s worried.”
“No. I don’t. I know what I’m doing. I told you; I’ve done this before.”
They were staring at one another and Zhou Mi really didn’t want this to turn into a fight. He was terrified of that happening. He was suddenly terrified of a lot of things.
“Please,” Zhou Mi asked quietly and Kyuhyun sighed.
“Fine.”
He opened the phone just as it started to go off again and he answered it, pasting a smile on his face.
“Hello?” Zhou Mi watched as Kyuhyun headed towards the couch, naked. He couldn’t hear what his mother was saying. “Oh I’m at Changmin’s house. Doing homework. I figure I’ll just crash here tonight.” Zhou Mi saw the exact moment that Kyuhyun’s mood flipped. His eyes went wide and all the color drained from his face. “What? What do you mean, he. No, no I am here.” Zhou Mi swallowed. Kyuhyun was clenching his fist. “Why would I lie to you? Well that’s what you’re accusing-no I’m not talking back, no mom. It’s not. What? I.” He went silent and Zhou Mi could vaguely hear a strict tone on the other side of the phone. “I’ll be right home. Yes mom. Yes mom. I love you too.”
He hung up the phone and his head dropped into his hands. Zhou Mi didn’t know what to say.
“You need to go?”
“Changmin went to my house,” Kyuhyun said in lieu of an answer, and he let out a dry laugh. “He stopped by and asked my mom to tell me to give him a call once I got home. She asked if I was hanging out with him, and he told her no.” He laughed again and Zhou Mi felt frozen in place. “So of course, now she’s worried and she’d been on the lookout for me since eight. She thought I might have been dead in a ditch or something.”
“She knows about your work?”
“Vaguely. She knows I work, but she doesn’t know where, or what I do.” Kyuhyun tossed his phone onto the table and rubbed his hand over his face. “Why would he do that?”
“Because he’s worried.” The words were out before Zhou Mi could even guess that he was just asking a rhetorical question.
Kyuhyun snapped his head to the side and he frowned. “Why would he be worried? He knew that I was trying to hide something from my parents. He’s my best friend! He's supposed to be my cover! How could he even think that was a good idea?!"
Zhou Mi blamed Kyuhyun’s shouting for why he started shouting as well. "Considering you haven't told him anything how was he supposed to know! He's probably worried about you. Actually, I know he's worried about you."
"How?"
"Cause he told me! When you started dating Seohyun he came up to me and told me he thought you were acting strange! He's just concerned."
“Well he can go shove his concern. I had this completely under control until he decided to stick his nose in this.” Kyuhyun got up with a hard shove and he stalked into their bedroom.
“He was just trying to help.”
“I didn’t need his help.”
“So what? Were you just going to move out and make your parents think you were living with him, and just never tell him?”
Kyuhyun froze from where he was throwing his clothes into his book bag. “I hadn’t figured it all yet, but yeah. Pretty much.”
Zhou Mi let out a laugh. “And what? You think they wouldn’t have noticed?”
Kyuhyun threw his bag onto the bed. He was still naked, and his hair was still dripping wet. “Don’t get mad at me! I don’t want to fight with you about this!” He let out a frustrated sound and went back to packing. “I was doing all of this because I want to be with you.”
All the words stopped in Zhou Mi’s mind. He stared at Kyuhyun, and watched him zip his bag closed. “I know,” he finally said. “And I want you here, but maybe we should slow down.”
Kyuhyun grabbed his shirt and he turned around. “I don’t want to slow down.” Zhou Mi sucked in a breath as Kyuhyun advanced him, wrapping his arms around his shoulder. “I want this so much Mi. A lot more than I thought I ever would.”
Zhou Mi cupped Kyuhyun’s cheeks, pulling him closer to him. “I know. And all I’m asking is that you calm down, and think, okay?”
Kyuhyun let out a sigh, resting his head against Zhou Mi’s chest. “I want it now.”
“So do I.”
Kyuhyun’s fingers tightened their hold on the back of his shirt and Zhou Mi pressed a kiss to the top of Kyuhyun’s head. After a moment he pulled himself back, stepping out of Zhou Mi’s embrace to button his shirt up. “I will be back. I’m going to fix this.”
Zhou Mi smiled fondly and he wanted to reach out and pull Kyuhyun into a kiss, but he knew he needed to get dressed. “I know. And I’ll still be here.”
Kyuhyun pulled on the rest of his clothes and picked up his bag. “Yeah you better. I’m getting attached to you.” He still looked angry, but he smiled at Zhou Mi, and stopped beside him, leaning up for a kiss. “Walk me to the door?”
Zhou Mi nodded and they both headed to the door. Kyuhyun grabbed his phone on the way there and let out a frustrated sigh as he opened the door. “This is going to be a fun conversation.”
Zhou Mi kissed Kyuhyun again and watched him step outside, pressing speed dial on his phone.
“You’re a fucking moron. No. Don’t talk,” Kyuhyun started off the conversation and Zhou Mi let out a sigh. He really hoped that Kyuhyun wasn’t about to destroy his friendship with Changmin. “Want to know where I’ve been? I’m currently leaving my boyfriend’s house.” He paused. “Yeah you idiot. I have one, have had one. Just. Listen you almost got me killed, so thanks a lot for that. How would you like it if I ever did that to you? Your parents would skin you alive if they ever found out about Kibum being more than just your older male friend.” Kyuhyun waved and continued walking down the hall.
Zhou Mi closed the door to the sound of Kyuhyun laughing, obviously calming down.
“Yeah, I guess you can meet him.”
Zhou Mi winced but he supposed he would have to accept Changmin knowing. Then again Kyuhyun could always just have him meet some random guy. Maybe the bartender at his work. Yeah that would work, and make perfect sense.
Zhou Mi laughed to himself, and only laughed louder as his phone went off. This night couldn’t get better it seemed.
“Hey,” he said as he answered his phone.
“Hey Zhou Mi. How are you feeling?” Sungmin seemed unsure over the phone and Zhou Mi remembered how nasty he had been on Friday.
“Sobered up.”
“That’s good. I’m glad to hear. Listen, I know it’s late, and you have work tomorrow, but I was wondering if you wanted to come out for dinner.”
Zhou Mi’s mouth went dry. “I’ve already eaten.”
Sungmin was quiet for a moment. When he finally spoke he seemed unsure. “We don’t need to eat? We can just sit? And talk?”
“I should really get to bed.”
“Oh. Okay.” He was quiet again and the added. “Good night Zhou Mi. I love you.”
It suddenly felt oppressive in the room. Something was bearing down nice and heavy on Zhou Mi’s chest and he knew he couldn’t respond the way he was supposed to.
“Wait,” Zhou Mi said.
“What?”
“You don’t. What I said on Friday, about calling me Mimi. I was just. I’m a nasty drunk sometimes. So just ignore me when I’m like that alright?”
It took Sungmin a bit to answer and Zhou Mi waited. “Alright.” He sounded better, a bit brighter. “I’ll remember that. Good night Mimi.”
“Night Sungmin.”
And there, it wasn’t so oppressive anymore. Zhou Mi closed his eyes, thinking of how he could handle this better. He did need to end it with Sungmin. It was something he needed to address, same as Kyuhyun’s parents still being a huge part of his life, and the fact that Kyuhyun had friends who knew about them. But he’d figure it out. They’d figure it out.
As Zhou Mi crawled into bed, and it was so empty now, he grabbed his phone and sent Kyuhyun a text.
Hey Kui Xian. What would you say if I told you I think I’m in love with you?
Fifteen minutes later he got a response.
I’d tell you to tell me it in person. So I can laugh at you. :P
Zhou Mi laughed so hard he fell over.
Chapter 8
