Popper & Poetics

A few years ago, I read the book Wittgenstein's Poker. It was a fascinating read and introduced me to the character of Karl Popper. Ludwig Wittgenstein, I had heard of. I don't know that I've ever read any of his writing, or that I have a very strong grasp on his philosophy, but he has certainly been influential. The book related an incident at ( Read more... )

I recently read something about that book, but I don't remember where. (It wasn't Salon.com or the Onion AV Club, the two most likely picks). I was intrigued then, and even more so after hearing you talk about it. Kuhn as a Cold Warrior? It had never occurred to me...

Had you heard of Kuhn before? I hadn't, really. I ordered a copy of Fuller's Kuhn v. Popper.

He was the one who wrote The Structure of Scientific Revolutions, which popularized the word "paradigm."
