D'oh! Why do I always, always forget that you watch Firefly?

Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed *D* That segment you mentioned was the part of the song I was most anxious to get to-- although I intended it to be uplifting, not bittersweet! ;-) I can see how it's bittersweet too, though.

Hooray! Firefly vids coming from you are always a wonderful thing. :D

That being said, for some reason I didn't feel that this one was quite as spectacular as some of your others(River Tam, Baby Driver) have been. Please don't get upset, I'm just trying to be honest and give concrit. I liked the color clips which then fade-transitioned to a b/w clip; this felt like a sort of "editing theme" for the vid. But some of the other color effects, like the one where it wasn't quite b/w, but all the colors were very washed out, I felt was used too many times. It almost seemed like you were playing with a new effect for the first time in a vid ( ... )

No worries on the concrit. I was playing heavily with new effects. Personally, I love the slightly washed-out colors. What I don't like about this vid is the onslaught of the cross-dissolve transition (or the "fade" as WMM terms it). I should have backed off on it somewhat. Part of my problem is I want to make super edits like I see other people make with cool layering of clips and I just couldn't seem to achieve the same thing. I think part of the problem is not having sophisticated enough tools. The other problem is I just don't seem to have the eye for it ( ... )

Great Mal shots in there. Interesting song, not one that would immediately strike me for Mal but it works. I think you did the intro instrumental flow really well.

Gorgeous song! The vid lacks some of the cohesion that I often see in your vids - it feels like just a series of images that don't have a lot of significance to their order - but the music definitely carries it through. And it's great, as all of your vids are. Just maybe not your best. *hugs* Then again, I'm comparing it to "2AM" and the crazy Davy Jones River one, which still take my breath away. :)

Suggestion for a song if you were going to do a Simon vid: "Someday" by John Legend, from the August Rush soundtrack.

Oooh, thanks for the suggestion! I'll check it out. I'm high and dry on songs for Simon, Jayne, and Zoe so far.

Yeah, I know what you mean about this vid. I'm not 100% in love with it myself. I'm trying to find ways to break out of my comfort zone and it doesn't always work.

Awww! That was lovely, Faith, and the song was absolutely perfect for Mal.
