What they didn't show is the 12 officers attacked by people in the rally. After the attacks the officers fired rubber bullets into the crowd, they warned them to dispurse else they would be fired upon, but people are bitching because they warned them in English, not Spanish.
Honestly, this is America and English is spoken. If you come to a country, anywhere in the world, and don't bother learning the language, it's your problem when the authorities tell you to do somthing and you suffer the repercussions of not doing it.
Another point, and this is actually valid, is these people are not United States citizens, not here on Visas, and therefore are not protected under US Law.
Citizenship is not hard. My grandfather came over from Germany, during WWII, and still got citizenship in this country. if someone from an enemy country can come here, and gain citizenship while we were at war with their home country, anyone can do it if they just applied themselves.
I do understand the process to get into this country is jacked up and it does take a long time. But as long as a person has filled out the paperwork and started the process (IE we are aware of them being here), I have no problems with them being here. My problem is with people who have not and will not even start the legal process. And if we continue to allow this to occur, members of Al Quida and other radical Islamic groups will sneak in via Canada without us aware of it, and things will start to go boom all over this country
