I generally put up the pairing, and maybe a note if one of the characters is canonically ambiguously gendered or I am writing hir as genderqueer/transsexual/genderswaped/not hir canonical or assumed gender. I figure if you are reading fanfiction, you should know things like 'Bob is a boy; Alice is a girl; Kim is a woman but spent half of the series pretending to be male to become a knight'.

See, I don't understand why people don't think that's sufficient. I mean, come on, you should know what gender the participants are.

I got nothing. I mean, maybe if you had a fic with Bob/Joe and Alice/Dan, and you wanted to note that the NC17 referred to Bob and Joe having sex, but Alice and Dan weren't having sex onscreen... but even then, I generally warn for sex anyway*, so noting who is involved of the pairings mentioned seems fine, especially if you instead had Bob/Joe and Alan/Dan, and for some people one of those couples having sex might be a deal-breaker.

* Or I would, if I wrote it.

Did our Return to the Nineties week infect the internet? Is everyone searching with Alta Vista and navigating the World Wide Web with Netscape? ARE PEOPLE WRITING LEMONS?!

I don't get the point of doing that anyway. Are there really, say, Doctor Who fans who click on a River/Amy story and go "wait, Amy's a woman OH GOD NO"?
