Just started to read a fic. Not on LJ mind you and not SPN. The main character is in his 40 or 50s. It's from his POV. Don't you think he would know how old he is?

I sometimes blank on my exact age. Like "I'm 25! Wait, no, that's still right, right? I didn't have a birthday or something the last couple of months, right?" but, usually one would at least know the decade :P
