I'll confess that my two favorite Dennis Quaid movies are from the 1980s - Innerspace and The Big Easy, and the second largely for the atmosphere and music. It's where I discovered The Neville Brothers. Perhaps I'll check out his new thing and see what it's about...

He's a good actor and does a great job in comedy but I had such high hopes for this show, mostly 'cause of cowboys and dads and brothers and well, that's what I love.

Instead I got constipated Dennis.

Oh well.

I caught the pilot and it just didn't grab me, despite loving the cast. The same for Elementary. CBS' brand of shows generally don't appeal to me. Too procedurey for my liking. The Good Wife is the only CBS drama on my viewing roster.

I may record it tonight and give it one more try but I'm suspecting Raylan to continue to be my cowboy hot wearer of choice. :)

I have Elementary DVRd but haven't seen it yet. Raylan is my go to cowboy and it will take a lot bump him off of the hill.

Hee! I keep thinking the same thing. Sort of an "infuriated/constipated" blend. But I do like him. I wasn't completely sold on the show (I LOVE "Last Resort") but I'll give it a chance to build up some speed.

I wasn't sold either. Didn't hate it but it didn't grab me either. Which is a shame 'cause it is right down my alley.

I gave the pilot a watch and wasn't blown away but I'll watch a few more. I have to laugh at your 'constipated' comment... I remember watching an interview with him once where he said on more than one occasion he'd had roles where the director told him unequivocably that he wasn't allowed to smile. Because his smile was too warm/infectious/youthful/adorable, whatever. And that interview made me think of Switchback with him, Danny Glover and Jared Leto and how SERIOUS he was throughout. Stone-faced. Or, forever more for me to think of as constipated-faced LOL. I actually had some concerns about Vegas that he'd be in that same mode. Hopefuly we get to see a bit of his lightness/warmth. I happened to watch him in "What to Expect when You're Expecting" this weekend and we got to see his charm and warmth even though he played an ass. And we got to see him serious. I like that mix. If it's all constipated, all the time... I'm pretty sure I'm outta there ;).

Yeah, he is a very funny guy and I really enjoy watching him in comedic parts. But this? I'm not too sure. I think I will give it some time to see if it grows on me.

You are right. If we can't see some light heartedness, well it will be a killer for me too.

He does look constipated. Really. I can't think of a better word. The premise is great, the show is meh but it could turn around. I don't know. I have Elementary taped but haven't watched it yet.
