"Yeah, I just sent a letter home to Mum and Dad, I assume you were doing the same," she said, gesturing to the barn owl that had just flown out the window. She watched after the bird, as it became nothing more than a small speck in the distance. Turning on heel, she was about to say 'Remus should be here any minute,' but before she could even open her mouth, her footing slipped on the wooden board beneath her.
The young Ravenclaw began to fall backwards. Her hands flew back, trying to grab the window sill behind her to catch herself, but to no avail. Her palm just missed the ledge and her wrist ended up grazing the cold concrete. Landing with a small sickening crack Sabrina shrieked in pain that coursed through her arm.
