a favor?

Hi, all! *waves*

My husband is looking for some help in putting together a simple web page. He wants/needs for it to be easily editable and preferably using either HTML only or using simple, free tools.

I don't have a clue.

Would any of you be able to give him some pointers or help him design something?

Has he tried WordPress? It's pretty much modular 9think fo each block of content like Lego that snaps into place), and a one-click install when you buy hosting at companies like Dreamhost. He can choose from loads of different templates, and edit it all using the online content management system.

I don't think he has. He has hosting with a company called Hover or something like that, so that should be covered. I'll point him toward WordPress, because everybody like to play with Legos, right? ;)

How well does he know HTML and/or CSS? If he is at all in need of tutorials, w3schools is an excellent free resource.

CSS I don't know, but I think he has a decent handle on HTML. Thanks for the tutorial link! That should definitely be helpful. :D

Blogger-its easy to use, free and has templates. It's a blog style. Does that matter?

Wix- Flash sites (free and paid sites- with a free site they stick and ad on your site, not a big deal) cool templates.

Square Space- great templates and easy to use tools. Artsy fartsy. ;)

Does he have a domain name yet? Don't get it through Network Solutions. Friggin' nightmare they are and NO help support at all.

My sites are built with Open Pad....great guys who give you personal help when it all goes kablooey.

Just do a search to find all the links. :)

if it were still around, I would suggest Geocities. I used it.
