Excellent fics! I like the first, showing the shabbiness of Jason's life and his delusion in fooling himself that he's better off without his family.

Of course, since Alfred rules, the second one is even better! :) He'll get Jason back, leaving a trail of breadcrumbs for the little bird to make his way back home. ;)

Thanks so much, hon! :D

Poor Jason really is deluding himself there. *pets him* But Alfred would never let that stand. ^_~

Oh, poor Jason! Alfred doing his best to save Jason was wonderful but the sad, lonely life Jason had convinced himself was freedom was so very sad! These definitely qualify on the darkfic category.

*hugs Jason*

Thank you for sharing!

Oh these are great. In the first one I love the way you contrast Jason's distain for those who lie to themselves with the lie he is living himself. And the picture you pain of his living conditions make me want to condem them myself.
The second is so full of Alfred's gentle voice and hope and care that I can see how they would be attractive to Jason and how they would ease him back to his family.
Thank you for sharing these fics. Very enjoyable.

Thanks so much, hon! :) Poor Jason is living in total denial about his life, but Alfred will get him back, for sure.

So bittersweet and lovely. I loved the first one, with Jason trying so hard to convince himself, and then the second one was the perfect follow up. I liked the switch in tenses between the two, it gave it even more of a feel of past and present. Beautiful job.

Thank you so much! :)

I'm glad the tense change worked. Dunno how it happened, but the second just wouldn't let me write it in past tense.
