Mere words cannot express how much I love this story, and the easy comradarie you've given Our Heroes, and omg omg omg the USS Obama! YOU NAMED A SHIP THE OBAMA.

And ONE. And her AWESOME sense of humor, example of:

A genuine snort of amusement escaped her in response, and he saw her shoulders shiver with an otherwise silent laugh for a split second. Just enough to break up the heavy pall of their conversation. "You're worse than your pet Cadet-Captain. Always have been."

I've been wanting to write these two and this particular story for ages, and was so happy when the muse struck. And yeah, I couldn't let this pass without the USS Obama. ^_~ I can't get enough of ship naming, which was the original starting spark for this fic months ago anyway! :p

I ... kindof want a whole series of action adventure stories written about the Obama and their antics, and I also want to see that series sent - not to the tptb - but to the President. (I think he'd get a gigantic kick out of it.)

Gah! Yes! \O/ I'd seen the name on ships in other people's fic, and I *SO* couldn't resist using it. I think the President would get a wonderful kick out of reading fic about a starship named after him. :p

This is just gorgeous! And I love the idea that she rises from the ashes, and Pike is able to support and love her 100%, and want to see her out there having awesome captain-y adventures no matter what, whether he can be a captain by her side or not.

I loved this. I like how well they know each other, the deep emotions they both try to hide but can read on each other. This was just wonderful.
