Huh...

Feb 07, 2009 12:46

I've crocheted and unraveled the same piece at least three times this morning. *facepalm* This is what I get for trying to hybridize two patterns into one (a star-shaped blanket and a chevron shawl, to make a star-shaped shawl). My vision even started to swim while I was trying to count stitches. O_o Taking out one of the star points has me ( Read more... )

UGH, that sounds frustrating. I have hope you'll succeed though, because you've got to have mountains of patience for crocheting. I'm too lazy and never start with a gauge swatch, hence the misshapen atrocities in my room.

Yup. :/ I hope so, too. I think I *might* have it figured out now, though. *fingers crossed* I never do gauge swatches, either, unless I'm testing a new pattern. Just tend to start things and take forever to finish them. :p

ouch. best of luck. I've got a couple of projects I'm going to try and finish in the next two weeks, because there are events at which I wish to give them, but...

I'd forgotten just how fast my wrists start to quake if I forget to stop every so often.

Thanks, hon! I've still gotta finish hubby's Doctor Who scarf, which is a monumental exercise in repetition. O_o

And I tend to get crampy in the fingers of my right hand, and in my wrists. Have to stop and stretch every so often, or switch projects for different motions.

when I get to the point of hurting, I'm pretty much done for.

And I found some of those Doctor Who projects on ravelry... once I learn to knit I may have to make a Dalek.

If I can't get eased up, usually that's my cue to stop, too. Longish breaks help.

A Dalek could be fun. I know there are patterns for crochet Daleks out there somewhere, too. Hubby's just getting the scarf for now. :p

If it makes you feel better... there is absolutely nothing I've been able to start lately without doing that. Like, nothing. Not even a simple pair of fingerless gloves in a rib stitch. Nothing.

Maybe it's just a phase. I hope it's just a phase. Please say it's just a phase... XD

I've been there many times. It's only the fact that I've been rather consumed by crochet lately that I've been able to get anything done. I've have a ton of half-started projects laying around. :p

I'm sure you'll break out of the rut soon! *hugs*

Perhaps you need to take a break and try again tomorrow. Especially if your eyes are so tired. :(

I did take a long break, and after I came back to it, the pattern made more sense. I got it all figured out, and have been adding to the piece all day.

As it turned out, I was coming down with some sort of cold. I've been run down and sore all day, so I've been taking it easy, and taking lots of breaks. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.
