By one of those strange coincidences that seem to happen to me, I won a copy of his earlier English translated book, Blood Sisters. As I remember, I was quite tart about the translation, which I remember as annoying. The one here really is very good - for a translation.

I always prefer to read anything Italian or French in the original where possible.
