eating well

Tightening up my nutrition has had me eating well the past week. Part of this is that having rules and restrictions can foster creativity for me--it's sort of like writing a poem within the bounds of a form. It's also because eating out is difficult to do and I'm trying to eat more often--recently I'd reverted to only eating 3-4 times a day--so I ( Read more... )

I'm going to have to try the first one at least, probably the others also. any idea on the protein/etc... breakdown (even vaguely) for them?

You may have noticed I had a difficult time even estimating what quantities of ingredients I used. I'm a "dump it in until it looks right" sort of cook. So it's similarly difficult to guess the breakdowns.

I do know my husband and I estimated the Kaiserschmarrn must have around 35 grams of protein or possibly a bit more per serving. I wouldn't be surprised if it has close to 50 grams of carbs per serving given the oatmeal (I think I'm generally using closer to 1/2 cup than 1 cup though) and blueberries. There's a goodly amount of fat from the pecans too but the fat is fairly low--15 grams maybe?

The others would require me looking up the macronutrient profiles of various foods because I don't keep many in my head. Maybe if I write more of these fatloss-friendly recipes I'll add that feature. It would be a worthwhile exercise for myself, as well, since I don't usually count much but protein.
