Chapter 4: In which past’s revealing…

Sho blinked confused as the door was shut in his face. What did he do again to earn this?
“Aiba-san!” he called loudly and raised his hand to knock the door.
“There’s no meaning to try that…” a voice behind his back stopped him.
Sho dropped his hand and turned around.
“Ninomiya-san?” he looked surprised to see Aiba’s friend there. Only those who’re related to the company were let in here…
“When he’s like that he won’t change his mind easily. And pushing him just worsens things usually. He’s pretty stubborn but I guess there’s no need to me telling this to you…” the shorter guy said with a smirk that somehow made Sho feel uncomfortable.
“But…” Sho started looking at the door again with worry and confusion in his round eyes.
“Believe me, the best thing you can do now to leave him alone. He’ll be fuming for a few hours then it’ll pass… or at least he works like this most of the time…” Nino said digging his hands in his pockets, rocking back and forth on his heels.
“I see…” Sho mumbled giving in but still didn’t feel better.
“You’re free now, right?” Nino asked suddenly.
“Eh?... Oh, yeah, it looks like that… Since Aiba-san refuses to talk to me now…” Sho said nodding.
“Great! Come with me!” Nino said and walked to the elevator immediately, obviously not accepting ‘no’ as an answer from Sho…

Fifteen minutes later Sho and Nino was sitting in a café both of them had a cup of coffee in front of them yet none of them touched it. Neither of them talked so far. Sho was watching the other guy curiously wondering what he could want from him?
“You know how Aiba-chan got into the company?” Nino asked finally.
Sho blinked. He didn’t expect this question.
“Like everyone else. Auditioning, I guess…” the manager answered.
“Yeah… well, no” Nino said glancing at Sho. “I know that’s what’s in the company database but actually, that’s fake…”
“Fake?” Sho interrupted not wanting to believe his ears.
Nino looked at him rather discontent weighing whether Sho’s deaf or just simply stupid?
“Yeah, that’s what I just said or didn’t I? Now, I guess you’d want to know the truth then, right?” Nino’s eyes lingered on the older man till that nodded hesitantly. “Aiba-chan was musically talented ever since he was a kid and it was obvious to everybody around him. From his young age all his teachers suggested to his parents to give him into adequate school so he can become something big… But he never wanted to do so, neither wanted to enter the entertainment industry obviously. But he had no choice. As he finished the elementary school his parents sold him to the company…”
“Sold him?” Sho echoed Nino’s words; not believing that there’re parents who’d do such thing.
“Yup. In exchange of a huge amount of money that was needed to save their family business they were ready to sell their very own son to a company which made an idol out him against his will” Nino confirmed trying to seem emotionless but Sho noticed the same anger coloring his voice that he felt too. “Of course they couldn’t keep it from Aiba why he was the only one among the trainees who had no connection at all with his family. And ever since he knew the truth he hates the whole world because of what his parents and this company did to him” Nino finished. “The thing that he had debuted rather fast only two years after he got into the company and that he debuted solo though most of the boys around that time and even now debut in bands, these things separated him more from the people around him and it didn’t help either… Even though he started liking his job as time passed by he keeps rebelling against everything to show he’s not forgiving…”
“And… how does someone like you… know these things?” Sho asked then; not that he believed that Nino made up this story just…
The shorter guy laughed at this.
“I’m the heir of the company of course I know these things” he answered taking his mug in his hand finally.
“I see…” Sho nodded. “EH? What?” he shrieked when the meaning of Nino’s words sank in.
Nino laughed at him again truly amused by Sho’s behavior.
“Come on, what did you think who I am?”
“Aiba-san’s best friend…” Sho muttered under his breath feeling like a total idiot.
“This company is not the place where mere commoners can walk in and out just like I did. Best friends or not…” Nino sipped his coffee watching Sho. “Maybe Aiba-chan was right and you’re totally incapable to be someone’s manager… You didn’t even check my background…” he commented smugly.
Sho felt his face heat up in anger and embarrassment. Nino and Aiba just totally suit each other. Both were spoiled, stupid brats and he didn’t study so hard for years to babysit brats like them!
“Anyway…” Sho took a deep breath and changed the subject in order to be able to ignore Nino’s comment. “Why did you tell me these?”
“I don’t know… Why not?” Nino asked back shrugging his shoulder. “Whatever my reason was the information is yours now, do whatever you want with it” he said then got up. “Thanks for the treat, Sakurai manager-san!” he winked at the older man and walked out the coffee leaving the bill to Sho to pay.
Sho stayed there more than an hour after Nino left and mused about what he heard. Living with such hatred, anger… Sho suddenly felt pity for the young idol. He had to bear with such a big pressure being so popular at this young age… That should’ve been more than enough but with this past too… Tackey-sempai told Sho that Aiba changed managers rather frequently ever since he debuted. That might not help things either, not having anyone at his side for long… Having none he can be attached, someone he can rely except the one Nino though Sho knew that sometimes weeks pass till they can meet.
“I did everything wrong…” Sho mumbled to himself. “He needs someone who understands him, who supports him without conditions. Someone who… loves him…” he mumbled and sighing he ruffled his hair in despair.
“Doushiou?...”
After another hour of fruitless thinking Sho left the café too. Even if he couldn’t come up with anything yet, he was determined to find a way how he can help Aiba…
But Sho had to realize that changing someone’s heart is not that easy. That it’s not something that depends simply on a decision. It takes so much more than that…

“Aiba-san? Some problems came up with your new dorama’s casting and the filming was delayed two months. Therefore we had to reschedule your summer tour as well. Emergency meeting starts in an hour and… Aiba-san! Are you listening at all?” Sho asked slightly offended and looked at the boy who lazily flipped a page in his current manga.
“Not really but I still got it that you smart-asses messed it up again…” Aiba said glancing at the manager coldly. “Don’t you have a meeting to prepare for?” he asked raising an eyebrow when Sho didn’t make a move.
Sho bit his lower lip hard to prevent himself from retorting. ‘I should be patient with this boy, he’s just hurt…’ he reminded himself hundredth time at least.
“You’re right, I have to call Ohno-san and Matsumoto-san too…” he said finally. “De wa shitsureishimasu…” he bowed a little and turned to the door.
“Oh, if you’re going there, bring me some coffee!” Aiba called after him.
“Hai, wakarimashita” Sho replied immediately and stepped out.
Aiba stared at the door thoughtfully for a while. There was that twinkling light in Sho’s eyes that told he was angry but then his glance softened as he looked at him… It wasn’t the first time he noticed this but couldn’t find out why it was… Also he couldn’t find out why it felt so nice and fuzzily warm inside when Sho was looking at him like that…
Sho walked down the corridors hurriedly to find Ohno. Most of the time it was hard to find the dance instructor cause if he wasn’t in the practice hall working on a new choreography it was almost impossible to find him. To Sho’s luck today it was the first option and the young manager find him rather quickly.
“Ohno-kun?” he called him to get his attention.
Hearing his voice Ohno turned off the stereo and walked up to Sho.
“Sakurai-kun, what can I help you?” he asked wiping off the sweat from his face with a towel.
“Aiba-san’s tour was rescheduled. It starts two weeks from now therefore we have a meeting in an hour. We need you to be there too” Sho explained.
“Oh, okay. I’ll be there…” Ohno nodded smiling reassuring.
“Great, I have to go now. Don’t forget, in an hour!” he repeated knowing that Ohno was an artist in heart and like this he had a tendency to forget things easily if they didn’t really catch his interest.
Jun was so much easier to be found. He had a room at the lower floors for working and as a workaholic he was, he was always there. Today wasn’t an exception either.
“Hi there, Matsumoto-kun!” Sho greeted him smiling when he entered.
“Hi, Sho-kun! I told you already that Matsujun’s just fine…” Jun replied while he tried to match a pair of jeans with two different shirts.
“Oh, yeah… sorry, I forgot, Matsujun…” Sho said smiling a bit wider.
“Toma! Get that red sweater and the blue spotted scarf, would you?” Jun shouted for his assistant a faint ‘Hai!’ arrived as an answer from behind the racks followed soon with the sounds of ruffling through the clothes. “How’s Aiba-chan?” he asked then Sho again.
“The usual, you know… By the way, there’s a meeting about his tour…”
“I know. I heard about that already, will be there… Thanks!” Jun said as he smiled sweetly at Toma taking the requested clothes from him.
“Oh, that’s great!” Sho said smiling though he wondered how Jun was always of-so-well informed when he barely stepped out from his work-hole…
“Toma! Get that white, long, sleeveless coat instead, please…” Jun said as he looked dissatisfied and tossing the shirts away changed them with a simple black tanktop.
Sho watched him work intently. Jun scolded him sometimes when his shirt wasn’t matching with his tie and the manager was curious how the stylist did that those outfits always looked breathtaking at Aiba even if they were frilly and glittery and just to the utmost disgusting to begin with. Just as the assistant came back with the coat, Sho’s phone rang.
“Moshi-mo…” Sho started but the caller interrupted him:
“Where the fuck is that coffee? Is it that hard to get a singly cup of coffee? I thought it was something that even you can do…” Aiba’s voice snapped.
“I’m already on my way…” Sho said rolling his eyes a little.
“Better be” Aiba said and hang up.
Jun chuckled a bit.
“You seem to be busy, Sho-kun…” he commented. “Okay, this will work, you can take this…” Jun turned to Toma.
“Hai!” he said and gathered the completed outfit and put them on a hanger.
“I go now, then… See you soon at the meeting…” Sho bowed his head a little and hurriedly left to get back to Aiba with that coffee…
“What took so long?” Aiba asked grumpy snatching the cup from Sho’s hand.
“I’m sorry, Aiba-san. I…” Sho started but as always the young idol cut him:
“I don’t care. We have a meeting you were fussing about or not?” he asked. Then without waiting for a reply from his manager Aiba headed to the meeting room…

A/N: tada! chap4's here! who's happy? XDD also, Aiba's past and the reason (is this the real reason at all?... XD) why he acts as he does... and special congratulations to faradakiut and ichi_toshimiya  for guessing right Nino's true identity!^-^ actually I had to thought a lot what to do with Nino cause from the very begining I wanted a lot of scenes with Nino in the backstage with Aiba but who should he be to be able to move freely everywhere where Aiba is... at first I wanted to make him an idol too but that was just too boring... so this is how he became Johnny's nephew XD hope you like it^-^
