SUMMARY: Sho and Nino finally able to start their family but will it be as easy as they imagined it? Or did they plan it properly at all what they’re up to?...

Chapter 7: His heart
Nino walked down the streets slowly to their apartment. Chilly wind tugged his coat yet he didn’t take the train to get home quicker. He just found no reason to hurry home since Sho won’t be there for hours later. Then what’s the difference between being alone at home or on the streets? ‘I just wanted to be with you, baka! Since you couldn’t come in the morning…’ He stopped in front of a shop window and looked at his reflection. There were no signs yet that he’d be any different of other men on the streets. That he was special. Nino lightly put a hand on his yet flat tummy and smiled softly.
“Even if he can’t be here… A part of him is still with me always, nee?” he mumbled into his scarf. “And it can’t be helped… he has to work…”
He sighed softly and turned to keep going when a woman stepped out of that shop holding hands with a three years old or so boy.
“Come on, Kenta, let’s go home! Papa might be waiting for us!” she said cheerfully and smiled at her son.
“Yay! Papa will play with Kenta, nee, mama?” the boy asked looking up at his mother with a beaming face.
“Hmm… Probably he will… If Kenta were a good boy today…” she answered smiling.
“I was!” the child shouted proudly.
Nino couldn’t help but smile at this scene and watched as the couple disappeared in the crowed. Then he headed home too a bit more cheerful this time, thinking about if he, they’d be like this once. He hoped they will…
“Tadaima!” Nino mumbled out of sheer habit since he arrived home first.
Or he thought so…
“Okaeri!”
“Uwa!” the gamer cried out startled and stumbled back to the door. “Sh…sho-chan?”
“Don’t look at me like you’ve seen a ghost…” Sho chuckled stepping closer to his boyfriend and kissing his lips. “Dinner is ready, I brought your favorite burgers so hurry!” he added grinning.
Nino hurriedly toed off his shoes and followed the older man.
“Sho-chan! What are you doing here? Your meeting…?” the gamer asked still seemed to be in the state of shock.
“Oh, that was cancelled… They called earlier that director-san fell ill...” Sho said matter-of-factly. “By the way, what took you so long? I started to worry that you were kidnapped or something…”
“I walked…” Nino admitted blushing a little.
“I should’ve known…” Sho sighed dramatically. “Too stingy to pay even the train fee… Anyway, sit down and ear finally, you have to take care of yourself properly for your own and the baby’s sake too!”
They spent the rest of the night peaceful. They cuddled on the couch and barely paid attention to the late night variety show what was running on the TV in the background. Instead they talked about Nino’s check up since Sho was curious about everything then slowly the younger singer started to doze off on Sho’s shoulder.
“Oi, oi! Don’t fall asleep yet, babe!” Sho said poking Nino’s side lightly earning a sleepy giggle from the boy.
“Hey! Stop that…” Nino protested and tried to push away that poking finger.
“No way! If I stop you fall asleep immediately…” Sho grinned and poked some more. “Up and off to bath!” he ordered and nudged Nino to stand up.
The gamer pouted a little then got up and headed to the bathroom as he was told to do. He stopped at the door and looked back at his lover.
“Nani?”
“You’re not coming?” he asked grinning a bit mischievously at the rapper.
Sho smirked back.
“I thought you’ll never ask…” he jumped from the couch and rushed to him in a blink of an eye. “Come on, baby, I’ll wash your back…” he said grinning and planted a kiss in the crook of Nino’s neck wrapping his muscular arms around Nino’s slim waist as they stumbled into the bathroom…
The next few weeks passed peacefully. Sho paid attention carefully to be with Nino as much as possible and it kept his pregnant lover in a very good mood. Then as Christmas came neared the gamer seemed to become more and more troubled and impatient but refused to talk about it with any of his bandmates (not even with Riidaa!) when they asked about it.
“Okaeri!” Sho greeted Nino smiling when the younger Arashi member arrived home a few days before Christmas.
The gamer mumbled something that might have been a ‘Tadaima’ but Sho didn’t quite catch that.
“You were walking again?” the rapper asked slightly scolding when he noticed Nino’s red cheeks and nose but got only another grumble as an answer. “Hey, what’s wrong, babe?” Sho asked stepping closer and put a hand on Nino’s shoulder in order to pull him into his arms.
“What’s wrong, you wanna know? I spent fucking four hours to find you the fucking perfect Christmas present but got nothing, that’s wrong!” Nino shouted annoyed and frustrated tears brimmed his eyes.
Sho was taken aback at first by Nino’s sudden outburst but in his heart he found it irresistibly adorable that he was upset about something silly like this. And like this, he couldn’t hold back his laughing.
“Oh, Kazu, don’t mind that… I don’t need anything. I already have the greatest thing from you that I can ask for so…”
Nino suddenly pushed him away roughly.
“You think it’s funny? Well, it isn’t! And who the fuck asked what do you want or not?” Nino stomped. “I want to buy you a present so I will! That’s it!” he shouted as the angry tears rolled down on his face.
“Kazu…” Sho tried to say something but the younger man didn’t let him.
“Just leave me alone!” Nino said and stormed into their bedroom shutting the door closed behind him.
Sho not really understood what was going on but thought that must be the best for now if he gives time to Nino to cool down. An hour later he approached the bedroom hoping his lover was okay now and will let him and go to sleep.
“Kazu?” he asked softly and touched the gamer lightly who lay in their bed curled up in a ball.
“Go away! I told you to leave me alone!” Nino snapped and shrugged off the rapper’s touch.
“But… I…” Sho stuttered surprised that Nino was still angry though he probably should’ve used to that Nino didn’t give his forgiveness that easily most of the time and he wasn’t an exception from it either…
“You’re sleeping on the couch tonight, Sakurai, if it wasn’t obvious yet…” the younger singer said throwing a pillow toward Sho then turned his back to him.
The rapper stood still for a minute or so till he realized that his lover wasn’t joking. He pouted but bent down to pick up the pillow from the floor where it fell and left the room…
Somewhere during the night Sho woke up feeling something was tickling his nose. He frowned and opened his eyes slightly. When he found a soundly sleeping Nino pressed up to his body closely so they both fit onto the couch, he smiled lovingly.
“I love you too, Kazu…” he murmured and drifted back to sleep…
Since Aiba’s birthday was on Christmas Arashi had the tradition to throw a party for the birthday-boy after work on 24th. But since this year it was Ohno and Aiba stressed that it’s their first Christmas with Aya as a family the members decided that they drop the tradition this year and celebrate Aiba’s birthday with eating lunch together (with Mao-chan included too, of course) then everybody can spend the Christmas Eve with their respective families.
Sho and Nino walked home together after their Christmas Live on Music Station. The younger leant on Sho’s side tiredly as they headed for the train station.
“Ne, Kazu! Can we stop somewhere before going home?” Sho asked.
“Sure but where do you want to go?” Nino asked confused looking up at his boyfriend.
Sho just smiled at him as an answer and quickened his pace a bit. Nino had no other choice then following him. Soon they stopped in front of a shop.
“A jewellery?” Nino asked frowning and looked at the brightly glittering jewelry behind the glass.
“I wanted to buy our rings as a Christmas present but didn’t want to choose them without you…” Sho said smiling softly at Nino.
“Our rings?” Nino asked turning his hazel eyes to Sho.
“You can call them our wedding rings if you want, though I can’t give you a proper wedding ceremony. Sorry…” Sho answered.
“You’re proposing me now?” Nino asked sniffing lightly.
“I planned to” the rapper grinned.
“Baka! You’re so lame… proposing me on Christmas Eve…” Nino sniffed and punched Sho’s chest lightly.
“Maybe I am lame but you love me, don’t you?” Sho asked grinning more and wrapped his arms around Nino’s waist.
“You noticed that just now?” Nino said and puffed his cheeks adorably though he was crying.
“And your answer is…?”
“Yes, of course! You made me pregnant, like hell I will let you escape the responsibility!” the gamer mock-complained and wiped away his tears impatiently.
“Good” Sho laughed and escorted his lover into the shop…
