Boy is that one complicated! Very difficult to explain his feelings, but I think he got through to her that he will be whatever she wants him to be, but always first and foremost, her friend.
And Donna still feels a bit inadequate, thinking he kisses all of his companions and that he's not interested in her... he is, but will never push the issue. If she wants it, he's there. If not, he's still there. There is no "quid pro quo" here, just an honest friendship, as long as she wants.
Forever....
Well done, really expressed how complicated relationships can get.
Yeah, I think you were right to NOT include any sex. The message would've been cheapened. I think not even having them hug made it more powerful. Bravo on your choices!
Oh, my dearest, sweetest Saaammie- thank you. This ended exactly where it needed to. The choice to be intimate with someone is a highly personal one and there is no one way to go about it properly. The danger is when people let their raging hormones overwhelm rational thought and then afterwards have to deal with the emotional fallout

Wow, saaammie, that was awesome! Donna is my favorite companion, and she is, in many ways, beaten down. Just the comments made to her during Runaway Bride by her asshole fiancé were enough to show us that. The only positive people in her life are her gramps and the Doctor (we don't really know about her Dad.). Donna has poor self-esteem and it shows in many ways. I think that's why I love her; she reminds me of myself. Great character study, whether you meant to or not!
