Good job on going through the VAPID points, but I think you could develop them more. I also like the way you are using specific examples from the text to support your ideas.

Good perspective on the story.

Who do you think Margaret is trying to communicate with? I agree with you that the canadian economy suffers with the american economy, as it is now. I like your use of quotations from the letter but i would like to see more of your own writing. I think if I was an American I would personally agree with Margaret Atwood's views on the declining economy. I think most Canadians would feel the same way.
Over all, good summary of the literature
