Tech Spec Blech

In reviewing the available technologies for performing query notations/engines for processing RDF-Triples (not wanting to reinvent the wheel) I have decided that as a developer -- the first thing I want to see when looking at a tech spec are some examples -- not some friggin BNF table of syntax token rules. Give me flavor first, tokens and rules
