For the hyphen, try looking here. The adjustment would be specific to your journal, so you'll need to play with it.

Hi, thanks for finding that entry! Unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be working for me. I tried the codes all together, separately, played with the values but haven't made the hyphen disappear. :( I'll have to look some more.
