1. Find #sidebar and inside the brackets add background-color:#ffffff;. To add an image, just put in background-image:url(YOUR IMAGE);.

2. As far as I know it's always been like that...or, I don't know. Do you mean the tiny icons in your entries, or just the ones under the userpics?

3. You'll have to change the advertisement to Horizontal or Between Entries, I'm afraid.=\

first thanks for taking the time to help me :)))

about Q2. Yes, the ones under the userpics in the friends page.

Q3. When i tried to make it between the entries, it works well on the friends page but when i open an entry to read, the ad automatically shifts to the sidebar (vertically) and the problem repeats itself! I don't have a header... making ads horizontal makes my LJ really ugly XD There's no way around???

For #2, there's no way you can change it. It's just how Flexible Squares was built, I'm afraid.

As for #3, you can try adding padding:20px; inside #maincontent. It will keep the ad from overlapping the text, but not much else. :( If you want to remove the ads altogether, you'll have to get a Basic account instead.
