It has nothing to do with bothering the same person. ;) I've just been away for a few days and without Internet connectivity. If you go through the tutorial for creating a theme layer here, it'll show you how to combine your CSS into your theme layer, which should solve most of your problems.

Okay, I've done that, but the sidebar is still stuck on the left side and without a border. :/ Can you spot what I've done wrong?

Somehow this line wound up inside your CSS when it needs to be in the theme layer code proper:
set layout_type = "3CM"

Also, it needs to say "2CR" not "3CM", which is for 3 columns.
