Because that would give the haters a win. ;) Can't have that.

Lizzie posted on our Twitter account earlier ...

We must carry the light with us wherever we go. Now is the time to bring the magic. Now more than ever. Bolder, fiercer. And so we shall!

So amazing to see outstanding Americans speaking out today. That's what makes you a great nation, your eagerness to fight for what's right. Stay strong and inspire people all over the world!

This morning I gave my entire cast hugs, and then I told them that we weren't going to talk about it today. That we were not going to get each other riled up or down in the dumps.
That we were going to do our job as ARTISTS, dammit, and when that's hardest is when we need to do it best. That we have a house full of kids who have no clue what's happening but deserve a great show. A house full of some adults who need comfort and joy, and some who need a lesson in compassion.
That we were going to commit to support and care for one another, because we're going to be doing that a lot from here on out.
And I was so proud of them when they rallied (and overcome a ton of challenges as EVERYTHING went wrong, on stage)! They left work feeling better than when they came in.

Though I sure wish I had someone to pep talk me.

There is a raging conflict in me...and I managed to suppress it long enough to teach my class this afternoon, which is in U.S. History, and so I began by talking about how five times (with last night being the most recent), a Democrat has won the popular vote but lost the overall election and didn't become President (though two did later), and how in each of those cases, the decision wasn't just made by the electoral college, it was made by another group (the House of Representatives or the Supreme Court or the weird Electoral Counsel assembled for the 1876 election) or was the result of voter fraud on the part of Republicans. I tried to be rational, to say that he's lied so often in the past that we can't really believe anything about his campaign promises, and thus we must remain in the dark meanwhile until we see what he's actually like in the office (sadly ( ... )
