I was fresh out of surgery, with an army of Ravens and fans and friends and do-gooders at my back. I will never forget. Thank you all for your care and support, then and now!

I read your blog post the other day on the death of David Bowie, as I suspected you'd be someone who had something to say about it...it's hitting so many of us harder than perhaps any other famous person's death could have been expected to do, I suspect.

In any case, I want to write you an e-mail soon, so look for one in the coming days, and don't feel bad if you can't respond for a while--I understand! ;)
