Grand Canyon highlights, before I forget them all:
Monday/Tuesday
-bbq chicken pizza at Spenser's Pub in the Grand Canyon Railway Hotel, served to us by Linda, pub goddess.
-the HUGE hand-carved antique wooden bar in said Pub.  I couldn't stop looking at it.  Pictures soon.
-having the hotel pool and hot tub all to ourselves, to swim and grin and soak

I've seen the canyon, myself. Visited for a few days in summer 1982. Also around the same time, I remember reading a novel with a scene at the Grand Canyon, and a character said "It's not real. Somebody painted it." Whixh was kind of my reaction, too. But riding in a helicopter: that probably helps it feel more real.
