honoo_hihen and Ruki! Happy Birthday! ♥
Oh! And I will have another fic posted up later today. RukixReita. Slight angst. Other half to my two-shot. XD
Summary: AU fic. Ruki wanted nothing more than to throw himself out the window. It's way better than having the girls squeal and shout "Happy Birthday!"
“Happy Birthday~, Ruki-kun~!!” The girls in class squealed as they huddled around Ruki’s desk with wide flirty smiles and various size of packages in hand. Half the boys watched with mirth as the other half watched with envy and jealousy.
“Hn.” was all the short blonde could say. He ran his hand through blond hair as a single question popped up into his mind: How the hell did the entire class know of his birthday?
The girls giggled and squealed loudly, surprised that he even gave an answer.
Being one of the hottest and popular guys in school, Ruki was never the type to talk to girls. Normally, he would shrug or ignore any girl who speaks to him. He would also be found hanging around with the rest of the popular guys: Reita, Aoi, Uruha, Kai. Nobody seemed to find it surprising though. After all, the five of them had always been together since junior high.
The female population were extremely excited about this since that way, they could stare dreamily and even take pictures of them.
Besides Ruki, who was viewed as the distant one (although not entirely so), Aoi was seen as a leader; Uruha was seen as a flirt; Reita was seen as a quiet person; and Kai was seen as a kind, gentle person. Not only was their personality viewed as appealing to the school (guys and girls alike), so were their appearance.
Each had something so unique about them. Ruki liked different hairstyles so each week, his hair was altered to something different. As of this week, his hair was short, semi-spiked, and blond.
Uruha’s strong point was his feminine looks. In actuality, it really wasn’t a strong point but he used it to his advantage. Once, during the first day of Physical Education, he was hit on by one of the guys who mistaken him for a girl and he smiled sweetly before secretly jabbing him in the gut. Eventually, the teacher was told about it but he waved it off because he thought Uruha looked too “innocent” to do something like that.
Aoi’s strong point was his ebony piercing located right around his lower lip. He found that every time he sucked on his piercing with such a worried expression…people melt at the sight, especially the girls.
Reita’s was his strap of white cloth that hugged tightly around his head and over his nose. Apparently, that effectively created a mysterious air around him and because of it, no one knew of what his face looked like.
And Kai’s…well, his was pretty simple. His smile. Every time he smiled, the people around him began to act giddy. (Ah~, the power of Kai’s smile.) Not only that, his cooking skills were fairly known all over the school.
While Ruki was bothered by his overexcited female classmates, the rest of the gang sat across the room and watched in interest.
“Oh~, there they go again. They knew that Ru-chan wouldn’t accept anything and yet they’re willing to try and try again. Kinda sad, don’t you think?” Uruha asked, shifting his gaze from their blond friend to Aoi and Kai, who were leaning close and whispering to each other.
Pouting softly, he turned to Reita, who shrugged in reply. Uruha gave a curious yet impish look before tilting forward and whispering, “Didn’t you say you want to give your present to Ru-chan today? Why not do it now?”
Blinking once, the other coughed lightly and turned away. From what Uruha could tell, he seemed to be hiding his blush. Reita glanced back mere moments later with a cock of the head and muttered, “…I don’t think I can. It’d be too embarrassing.”
“Oh come on. Don’t chicken out now. Didn’t you mention you want to show them who’s who? If you don’t do it,…then I’ll do it for you.” he threatened.
“You…what?” Reita was dumbstrucked.
The taller boy leaned heavily against his arm. “You heard me. I’ll do it for you. Not only that, I’ll keep calling you a chicken until Ruki’s birthday comes around once more.”
Reita frowned in silence. He was not liking it at all.
“So…on a count of three.” Uruha began, raising a hand.
“One…” He raised a finger.
“Two…” He raised another.
“Thr-“
Reita stood up abruptly, fist clenched. One of his hands then dug deep into his pocket as he strode towards the surrounded blonde. Standing right behind Ruki’s chair, the girls glanced up, their laughter stopped. Ruki turned his head left and right in confusion.
He fished out an object…a thin gold necklace with a single silver ring. The girls watched in silence as he placed it around the blonde’s thin neck. Upon clasping it, his hand softly touched the other’s chin before tilting his head back and pressed an upside down kiss hard.
Everyone stared in shock.
A few seconds later, Reita straightened up and wrapped an arm around Ruki while smirking, “Sorry, ladies, but…he’s mine.”
Uruha shouted and howled at the two with satisfaction. So did Aoi and Kai.
The girls, on the other hand,…a third cried, a third ran out of the room, and a third blushed and fainted.
Ruki lightly punched the other’s stomach and frowned, “I was going to tell them eventually.”
“But don’t you think it’s better this way?” Reita pecked his cheek affectionately.
“…I guess so.”
“By the way, how’d you like the present?” he asked.
Ruki touched the pendant, a small smile tugged against his lips. “I love it. Thank you.”
Smiling back, Reita replied, “Anytime.”

Rumour spread across the school and about three minutes later, everyone knew.
Reita and Ruki didn’t care. It made things a whole lot easier.
End.
