Summary: Hey, it's still Ruki's birthday and a certain someone had brought him up to dinner.

“Ne, Reita…I never thought you would try cooking.” Ruki grinned widely as he sat patiently for the blonde.

Reita frowned at the other as he brought two plates over. “And I never thought you would be the try to be smug about it. Just so you know, this is a once in a lifetime offer.”

The vocalist thought for a bit. “Actually…isn’t it once a year offer?”

“Now why would you think that?” The blonde raised a brow questioningly.

“Hmm…” he began. “Maybe it’s because my birthday’s once a year?”

“Oh? Is that the reason? You’d think I would cook for you every year?”

“Mm hmm.” Ruki nodded. “Wouldn’t that be sweet? You’d do it for me, right?”

Gazing at the other’s sweet smile made Reita’s heart melt. God…if only he didn’t had that effect on him. It was too much for the bassist.

Unfortunately for him, his blush could not be hidden, for his nosestrap had been taken off ever since they arrived to his apartment. Why didn’t he left it on? Why? Why?!

Reita cleared his throat and changed the subject, “Do you want to watch a movie after this?”

“Aw, come on. Don’t change the subject. Just give me a simple yes or no.” the shorter man whined.

Sighing heavily, the blonde replied, “But I don’t want to give a simple yes or no.”

“Then what?”

“Well…” Reita gave a warm hearted kiss on his lips. “That’s my answer.”

Blinking and slightly blushing, the vocalist replied slowly, “…How does that imply a yes or no?”

The bassist sighed again. Sometimes, Ruki can be so dense…

“It was a yes. As long as you do not inform this to anyone, not even our band members…then I would cook for you every year on your birthday.”

“Ah! Really?” Ruki asked.

Nodding in reassurance, the other replied, “Really…so aren’t we going to eat? The food’s getting cold.”

“Oh, right. Itadakimasu~!!” Picking up his fork, he stabbed a chunk of meat before looking up at the bassist. “Ne, Reita?”

“Mm?” was the reply.

Smiling widely, he brought the fork to Reita’s lips. “Open wide.”

Grinning in return, he opened his mouth and snatched the meat from the fork. He then leaned in for a kiss. “Arigatou.”

Ruki laughed. “You know…I’m still pretty surprised about how well you can cook. Remember last year? That time where you had first cooked for me?”

“Of course, I do. I’ve been training long and hard to reach this level. You should be happy that I didn’t mess up or anything.” The bassist replied smugly.

“Sure you did. And how long did that took you?” the vocalist then asked.

“Well…” the blonde began. “It had been about…two years? Wow…that was such a long time…”

“Yeah, and I’m surprised you still remembered how to cook.”

“Hey! I’m not forgetful!” Reita defended.

“Yeah, I know.” Ruki grinned widely. “I just like to get some sort of reaction from you.”

“Hmph.” The bassist snorted. “Congratulations then.”

“Thanks. Is there a reward for my accomplishment?”

“Hmm…” Reita kissed him long and hard this time. “Your reward.”

The vocalist grinned once again and continued eating. The blonde followed suit.

After a few minutes, Ruki stretched and said, “That was good!”

“Yup, glad you liked it.” The taller man gathered the plates and left them on the sink. “So do you want to watch a movie now?”

Nodding, the other replied, “Yeah. Anything good?”

“There’s two options: A sap movie or a horror flick. Your pick.”

“Horror flick.” Ruki said. The bassist nodded and popped the movie into the dvd player before sitting down beside the shorter man on the couch.

For a while, none had said a word. From time to time, Reita would glance over to the vocalist, wondering when would be the best time to give it to him.

Now?

Blinking down as his hand unconsciously went into his pocket to touch a rectangular shaped box, he thought, Maybe now’s the time…

“…Ne, Ruki?”

Ruki turned to face the other as he replied, “Nani?”

Suddenly feeling nervous, he blushed. “Um…I-uh…”

“…What’s the matter?”

“Well…I…”

Ruki cocked his head to the side. What was he trying to say?

“I have…something to give you.” Reita muttered.

“What is it then?” The vocalist asked in confusion.

The blonde remained silent as he slowly pulled out the thin wrapped box and handed over to the confused vocalist.

Gazing from the box to Reita and back, Ruki quietly unwrapped the gift in front of him. Opening the box, he found a thin silver chain that held a small pendant engraved with the letter “R”. Parting his lips slightly, he turned to the bassist, whose face began to redden every few seconds.

“Reita?”

“…Yes?” was the reply.

“Is this…for me?” he asked.

Reita nodded as he looked up. “A birthday present…for you.”

Slowly but surely, Ruki smiled as he wrapped his arms around the bassist’s neck. “Arigatou…I love it.”

This made the blonde smile. Wrapping his arms around Ruki’s waist, he muttered, “I’m glad you liked it.”

Both stayed in that position for a few moments before parting. The vocalist then took the necklace and pulled it over his head. Touching the pendant softly, he then leaned towards the blonde, who then wrapped an arm around his shoulder as they both continued watching the almost forgotten movie.

Teh End (Really!)
