MY PLACE

"Vig..."
"..."
"Vig..."
"Hmm..."
"Vig..."
"Yeah?"
"Vee-go..."
"What?"
"Would you please stop doing that for a while? I'm trying to think."
"Doing what?"
"..."
"This?"
"Fuckin' hell... Viggo... Oh God... Stop... This is... fuck... important..."
"Important, huh?"
"Yeah... So please... fuck... stop... distracting... ah... me!"
"You know, for an actor, you aren't that convincing."
"Vig..."
"Fine. What's it this time?"
"Stop pouting, Vig. You're scaring me. And what the hell did you mean by 'what's it this time'?"
"Well, there was that one time when..."
"Vee-go..."
"Okay. Never mind. I find it annoying how you draw my name out like that... Cute, but annoying. So? You have my attention."
"Have you ever wondered, Vig, how it'd feel like to travel?"
"To travel? One would think, angel, that, with the way you've been hopping across continents these past three years, traveling would be the last thing you'd want to do."
"No, not that kind of traveling... Well, partly but... You know, the kind of traveling where no work's involved... No shootings or award shows... No photo shoots and PR events and all the Hollywood bullshit... You know, really getting away from it all and actually enjoying the trip... Some sightseeing... Soul-searching..."
"Getting tired of my company so soon?"
"Oh, Vig... You know what I mean... There just are times when I feel like I'm losing sight of myself... Pretending too much, too long, to be who I'm not, that it's so easy to forget where Orlando Bloom, the actor ends, and Orli, the real Orli, begins. Sometimes, I think that I don't even know myself anymore... And it gets tiring... I wish I could simply disappear to an obscure town in the Caribbean, or your ranch over at Idaho or that little house by the beach that we left behind in New Zealand..."
"Orlando..."
"I'd like to visit Mexico, without being hounded by bodyguards... Or Spain, without worrying about damn press people prying into my life... And Australia, without being forced to stop ever so often to smile and sign an autograph..."
"Or maybe I could go visit Italy, Venice, Rome, y'know... Or Paris... I've always wanted to visit the Eiffel Tower without all the publicity... And the Louvre... Then maybe I'd stop by Germany... Or Belgium... Or some exotic tropical places, down at the equator..."
"You think you'd find the real Orli lounging at a beach in the Bahamas? Brilliant plan, really."
"You're making fun of me, aren't you?"
"Of course not, Orli. You put up with my artistic eccentricities, I put up with your adorable weirdness... Fair exchange."
"I resent that!"
"Which part? The weird part? Or the adorable part?"
"A puppy's adorable... I'm gorgeous, beautiful, and all those things you call me in the heat of passion."
"Yeah... Beautiful... Gorgeous... Perfect... Humble, too..."
"Viggo..."
"Seriously, though, You were right. You are the pouting one in this relationship..."
"Hmph! Fine! Be that way... I'm trying to have an intellectual conversation here with someone who's supposed to understand the concept of the term as well as dote on me to death but chooses not to just to spite me. I am seriously re-considering taking on a certain someone else's offer to talk..."
"..."
"Vig, I was kidding..."
"..."
"Vee-go..."
"You're gonna be the death of me, you know, Orlando..."
"Is that a compliment, old man?"
"Maybe..."
"Aww... You know that I'd always be yours alone, no matter what other people may think my relationship with Snowboobs, sorry, Kate is."
"You're too much. Is Kate aware of you call her such a flattering nickname?"
"As aware as Robin is about me calling her an anal-retentive bitch."
"..."
"Y'know, Vig, now that I come to think of it, maybe you're right. Maybe I would find the real me lounging at a beach in the Bahamas..."
"Who knows? Have you ever read "The Alchemist", Orli?"
"Hmm... Once, I think, back when I was at Guildhall. Don't remember much of it, though."
"Well, once there was a shepherd boy who dreamt, while sleeping under a gnarled sycamore tree, of finding treasure in the Egyptian pyramids. So enthralled by the dream, he sought the advise of a Gypsy fortune teller, who confirmed the authenticity of his dream. So, he sold his flock and began his journey. On his journey, he met a king, a crystal merchant, a desert girl, and an alchemist, all of whom taught him valuable lessons. There were times when he almost gave up but he kept going. When he finally reached his destination, he discovered that the treasure he sought was, after all, right where it all started, where he dreamt -- under the twisted sycamore tree in the church ruins in Portugal."
"But had he not traveled, he wouldn't have learned what he did and met those people who changed his life forever..."
"True. But sometimes, what you seek is closer than you think, if you bother looking underneath your nose."
"Viggo?"
"You need not travel to find yourself, Orlando. The real Orli, the Orli I fell in love with, lives here... and here... In your heart... And in mine... Where he always has..."
"Aww, Vig... That's so sweet..."
"Can't say I'm a poet for nothing..."
"Cocky bastard! And I think you're right too..."
"When am I not?"
"Like I said, cocky bastard..."
"..."
"But, know what, Vig? Given the chance, I would still like to go on that trip."
"I would be surprised if you wouldn't."
"But, Vig..."
"Hmm..."
"No matter what... I promise you... That my place to return to is here... By your side, only... Always."
"Orlando..."
"Don't you dare make a smart-ass comment, Vig, I'm bloody serious."
"As am I. I love you, my prissy, wandering elf. Now, go to sleep. You have a long day ahead tomorrow."
"Hmm..."
"..."
"But Vig..."
"Yeah?"
"I hear sushi's best in Japan."
"Go to sleep, Orli..."
"..."
"..."
"One last thing, Vig..."
"Hmm..."
"Vig..."
"Yeah?"
"Vee-go..."
"This better be important, Orli because..."
"I love you."
End.
