That village sequence is actually one of the hardest parts of the game, IMO, so once you beat it, you'll know you can beat the rest of the game. Especially when you beat it in pro mode. D:

Anyway. What my friend and I do when we're swarmed by baddies is to shoot the closest one in the head (with the handgun) and kick him when he stumbles. This usually has the effect of injuring and knocking back the crowd that is swarming towards you, and serves the dual purpose of preserving ammo and giving you enough time to regroup. Or whatever.

And naturally, the shotgun should be reserved for Dr. Salvador. :D Since knives and handguns are pretty useless against him, as you've noticed.

Despite your traumatization, I hope you're having fun, because it's an awesome game. My life wad empty without it (okay, maybe I'm exaggerating a little. But only a little).

Yeah, it's a lot of fun, actually. Once I was able to survive the village omgggg the rest of it was pretty smooth and a lot of fun. I like finding treasure xD

That game is crack,...like all other good video games. But yes after the village it gets easier. The shotgun is the best weapon in the game, unless you have the hack where Leon gets to use the chainsaw all the time!

I have several walkthroughs and videos, that are several hours long, of how to play the game, which is cool since I would have never gotten far without them. I'll burn to a cd or something and get them to you.
