I'm looking for a good FREE anti-virus program. AVG makes my lappy slow as molasses.

As for programs, I use Auslogics Boost Speed + System Mechanic, as well as Spybot Search and Destroy and Ad-Aware Free.

That's about it, I want something that's non-resource hoggish. I'm not too much into PC gaming at the moment, just work and research.

I use Avira on my desktop and laptop. You know how fantastic my laptop is with all 512 MB of RAM--and believe me, I've been doing digital art drawing on that laptop lately which does eat a lot of resources all on its own--if my anti-virus would cause any lag on the laptop I'd end up throwing my face into my pillows to cry.

Do you use the McAfee Site Advisor plugin? Sometimes avoiding crappy websites saves you a lot of misery with or without virus protection. The most awesome thing for your PC is found here:
