Nooj picked up the small thick book and weighed it thoughtfully in his hand. Its very existence had quite slipped his mind until it had turned up during his packing for the move to Youth League headquarters. Just holding it brought back vivid memories of the days when life had been so much simpler and he had had the leisure to occupy his thoughts ( Read more... )

I liked the conversation between the soldier and Gippal. It was sharp ^^ Well done.

Great concept! I like the idea that Gippal tells everyone a different story as to how he lost the eye, and that each is really meant for the situation -- a story meant to elicit sympathy from Baralai, a challenge to the officer, and I'd bet anything he told Paine a story that made him look tough. ;) It's a neat way to draw out his character.

I also particularly liked the conversation with the soldier.

I can't wait for you to see the Paine story. It's borderline ridiculous.

Thanks for reading! I hope it lived up to Ikon's hype. ;)

Ooh, this is really interesting. :D I'll be on the lookout for more updates!

I'm curious to see the other stories he's told about his eye and whether he's going to tell the real story. I'm also loving the special brand of Gippal-sass in the scene with the officer.

This is great! The Confessional is by far one of my all-time favourite series, and this installment certainly lives up to it's expectations.

Will we be hearing anymore stories about Gippal's eye? Or are you guys going to leave it at that? It would be interesting to hear the one he told to Paine.

...Incidentally, where were Paine and Baralai when Gippal was speaking with the priest? Surely they should've been there too?
