There was little to do on these rainy days in the camp on Mushroom Rock Road. They were waiting to board the boats to take them to their first mission site - Bikanel, some had heard - but a fierce storm had just come in off the ocean, delaying their departure. You caught me! I was not expecting this. What a perfectly charming and logical plot. Truthfully, Ry, I think this is the best of the lot so far. I can so easily see the tent in the rain and the three playing their game and maneuvering their private games within games. I think you have found a mother lode of variations. ;)

=) I'm glad you like this one!!

I am truly enjoying all these variations and the different projected outcomes that they all have. One thing I struggle with -- I can't really ever get it so that it's mutually consensual. It always has to be a game, or a power move, or a secret longing that comes out spontaneously when one doesn't think the other's paying attention.

These two just can't do romantic without being ridiculous. Bah! ;) So I believe there is a limit.

Oh, come on. I can think of several scenario in which they look at one another and simultaneously move into an embrace. Keep tinkering. You will hit it. ;)

Maybe you ought to have several kisses? The first awkward kiss where one plans it, the other is unexpecting, the second, more experienced kiss, and the final third, and passionate kiss with both parties succumbing to their desire.

HAHAHA YES. Go, Paine and secret communication~ I like the way you capture their youth without making them seem too young (they're younger than me now, wow - suddenly, I feel sort of old!). I liked this one a lot. Was it as fun to write as it was to read? :D

Gippal had particularly enjoyed the story of Baralai’s failed magic spell that had resulted in an entire room of the temple being covered in peanut butter. That was a fantastic mental image, I have to say.

This was so funny I giggled through the whole thing. Just too cute for words. Definitely my favorite as well.
