I can't understand why they had to disband the federation. All they had to do was kick out everyone there and replace them with the people that will populate the so called ad hoc committee. Why the f**k will they require the ad hoc committee anyway, the name ad hoc itself denotes that these chaps are not serious. They could have named it Indian Hockey committee or something like that.

The reason being, currently the entire setup has to be changed. i.e. from the individual boards of the states. If only few people are removed, new people will have to be nominated ASAP. The IOA does not have time or means to do the complete makeover. Hence, they form this committee which will look into the aspects and then formualte the necessary changes.

There was a report in the current weeks Week mag, where they have explained what you mention. Like the state boards have IPS officers loyal to KPS Gill. Man what a corrupt place and person! Where are the hockey players in this scheme of things?

That was one of the main reasons why he had a grip on it for 15 years. And that is exactly why I am happy about the committee comprising former players who know something about hockey. A first good sign was the team announced for the Azlan Shah tournament.
