I'm typing in an article from a Division newsletter for the Kibitzer, and I'm faced with questions about my role as Editor. Is it my job to act as English teacher and pull out the red ink? Am I supposed to just let it all flow as the author originally wrote it, grammatical errors and all? Ex hated when I critiqued his writing skills, so I hesitate ( Read more... )

I tend to think that if they are articles commissioned by you or written by people employed by you, then you can edit them heavily as you see fit. If they belong entirely to other people then you cannot ( ... )

I edited it a little - changed a couple of words here and there for clarity and grammar. I've sent him a copy to look over.

The trickier thing now is my mother wanted to write an article as well, and asked me for some help. She's given me a list of points and wants me to flesh it out. I'm not sure if I can write it coherently - I feel so rusty.
