What got you interested in learning shorthand?

Initially I wanted to learn it before I started IB (2 years ago) so that I'd have a way of quickly jotting down things. And the same reason applies now, because I want to have a quick way of keeping notes during lectures in university. Why, am I not permitted to learn it unless I have a raging passion for alternative forms of handwriting or something? xD

Lol no, I get interested in obscure and unusual things to, but there's always a story or something behind stuff like that, so I was curious. *g* (For the record, I thought the idea of learning shorthand neat, but I never got around to actually being serious about it.)

I don't think you understand, Ryn - the variable lines are an excuse to buy yourself a fountain pen and learn to use it ;)

HA! If only I had the money for such fancy pens. :P (I think Dorian might be quite keen on a proper old-fashioned fountain pen though, even if he wouldn't even use it.)
