so soon I will be starting my third of college. crazy that it has gone so fast thus far. next summer i really want to do a music festival. fuck the drum corp stuff i need to be doing something more serious with my playing. i need something different to do next summer also, not so much of this sitting around stuff. i've done the teaching thing ( Read more... )

He just said "fuck" drumcorps for him. Not that it isnt an effective tool for TEACHING. If he wants to learn how to become a better player...he wants to go to a festival.

Now Evan...there will be none of that from you either. Now, this is what I experienced, and I will tell you what our staff told us. The methods...are more for performance purposes, rather than educating tools. That being said, and defining what it means, the tools and aspects of the way we approach playing are considered to be more effective for playing purposes rather than teaching purposes, and I can tell you, that I personally improved THE MOST as an individual player and my approach to playing, versuses becoming a master of methods to teach. Maybe not the same for everybody, but I'd be willing to take bets ( ... )
